I learn something from every episode. So much potential with Kool Kids. What about a "Kool Kids Future" line. It would focus on getting kids to think about their future and offer shirts like "Future CEO", "Future Entrepreneur", "Future Scientist", and "Future Educator".

Royce is gonna be a rock star. I'm ready to offer her a term sheet right now. LOL!

Re: 10 Hip Hop Artists And Black Athletes Investing In Startups

Great article Dana. As far as Ben, I don't know him personally but I do have a good friend that knows him well, and, based on our conversations, Ben would never use the word nigger or nigga inappropriately. Regardless of its history, we continue to give the word nigger too much power. Whenever a white person uses the world, it often triggers thoughts/behavior based of emotions which reveals that we are still somehow victimized by it's mere usage. It's almost like we've been conditioned to response a certain way, like Pavlov's Dogs. No one can make you feel inferior without your permission.

We have to take the power away from that word and stop thinking "white person said nigger = racist." As you mentions, not only did Ben marry a black woman they have children; thus he has black children. As my mom told me, I have told my sons if a white person use nigger to try to hurt you as soon as you response negatively you have given him/her exactly what they wanted and you lost. Learn to response in kind if necessary but never let him/her trigger you. Your ancestors sacrificed too much for you to get bent out of shape because someone called you nigger.

The last time (I think back in college) I got called a nigger my reply was "that's all you got?" and I laughed so hard in his face. I then said "why did you think that would upset me?" He turned instantly red and his head almost exploded. He revealed himself as a small-minded punk. I walked away laughing and telling him I felt sorry for him along with some other choice words. :)

Re: How President Obama’s Timeline of Hope Inspired Me To Create An Inclusive Tech Ecosystem

Great stuff Wayne. I'm constantly working to position my attitude to extract the good from my daily moments. Every second you spend lamenting the tribulations in your life or wishing you had someone else's life is one less second you can spend enjoying something good in your life. The quality of your life is directly proportionate to the decisions you make in your life and how you management the "bad" things. Quit tripping, get on with life, and Carpe Diem - Make Your Life Extraordinary.

Re: Gang of Black Teens Beats White Memphis Grocery Store Employee into Unconsciousness

I would have to agree. For some things, DNA is the only thing that makes sense. For example, whites seem to have the propensity for the following: (1) serial killing (2) child molestation (3) drug abuse (alcohol & prescription) (4) mass murdering (you people really need to get the school shooting thing under control) (5) greed (Savings & Loans, Madoff, CDOs, 2008 financial collapse) (6) rape (the recent report of sexual assault in the military is deplorable) (7) suicides (you guys are 4x as likely to kill yourself vs. blacks. What's up with that?) (8) How you treat your parents (you people are 5x more likely to ship your parents off to a nursing home than open up your home and care for them) (9) selfish mentality (how you people treated other white Europeans during the Great Migration was horrible) (10) witch craft and devil worshipping (really? what's the fascination with zombies and horror movies?) (11) WMD (Remains the only use of nuclear weapons in warfare - Hiroshima & Nagaski. Oh, I guess that falls under mass killing. My bad.) (12) Cults (13) Kill your own children or child kill you (Guy left baby in car, Susan Smith, Megan Huntsman, Julie Schenecker, too many to mention) (14) Last, but not least, Inferior genes (white people genes are inferior to every other race on the planet. BTW, blacks are the most dominant) Yeah definitely the DNA.

Re: Ted Cruz: Hatred, Bigotry, Opposition to Israel Led to Me Leaving Event

Not sure how you got that I was justifying the behavior of ISIS out of my comment. I was simply saying both groups have acted inhumanly in the name of religion so let's stop it with the morality bashing, because it only makes us look hypocritical.

Christians seem to have come a long way since Medieval times because they are winning. Losing begets hate which fuels emotionally charged irrational behavior.

BTW, I regularly attend a Christian church and for three of my high school years attended a Christian-based school. I have to force myself to remain objective and constantly challenge the width of my frame of reference. Most bad things are done by narrow minded people.

Re: Ted Cruz: Hatred, Bigotry, Opposition to Israel Led to Me Leaving Event

Why do you think I had to research it? We covered the Crusades in high school so I am fully aware of the different perspectives of the conflict. It was not my intend to indicate that the Muslims were innocent back than or now. Just seem we tend to forget that people in wrapped in Christianity are equally capable of engaging in horrific acts against others. I love the US and believe we should defend ourselves. I just think we can do it without all the morality mud slinging.

Re: Ted Cruz: Hatred, Bigotry, Opposition to Israel Led to Me Leaving Event

As the owner of a Software Development company that last comment really hurt. How can we have honest discourse when you possess a disposition that doesn't acknowledge a major historical event? True intellectuals are not restricted by viewpoint expounded by the left or the right. It would be like attempting to see the world around you while wear blinders. And another things, how is it illogical to point out that Muslims have done bad things to Christians and vice-verse?

Re: Ted Cruz: Hatred, Bigotry, Opposition to Israel Led to Me Leaving Event

Not sure of the intend of your reply. "Christians in the eleventh century were not paranoid fanatics." How would you define paranoid fanatics? And how did it become "Christian lands?" Did they come about the land the same way the Europeans came about the land here in America? I'm not pro-Muslim by any means, but to discuss matters in such a way that can promote cognitive growth requires agreeing on the same reality. The only point I was trying to make is that Muslims have done horrific things to Christians, and Christians have done horrific things to Muslims. Neither group can stand on a morality soap box.

Re: Ted Cruz: Hatred, Bigotry, Opposition to Israel Led to Me Leaving Event

Can we please use history to level set this "discussion?" Evil should be confront at all cost, but defining evil depends on perspective. We do remember the Crusades right? I know never mind - don't let the truth get in the way of a hating someone you've been programmed to hate. The article states "By 2005, the United States had already dropped to eighth in economic freedom. In 2009, the U.S. fell behind welfare state countries like Denmark, Finland and Canada." Barry O took control of the nose diving plane in 2009. Libs can blame Bush and Reps can blame Obama, but only the average American citizen is affected. by a screwed up economy. Most are so busy in a trivial battle of name calling that they fail to comprehend that the rich is doing just fine. Bush wasn't and Obama isn't the problem, a lazy America public is the problem. Take a moment to read and understand before commenting. There's nothing worst then removing all doubt by opening your mouth (or typing your opinion). Unfortunately when it comes to social media marketing, a lot of businesses operate in "Field of Dreams" mode - if we build it, they we come. I guess the thought is we need a fan page because our competitors have pages or because it is the "in" thing. Businesses need to focus on crafting a SM marketing strategy that enhances/support a business objective or exposes/exploits new opportunities that this new media offers.
