hey irick!!!!!!! i got your text about your dvr not taping boston legal, so here's a quick write up about it!!!!!!

the transition between the 9th season of the practice and the spin-off boston legal was interesting enough to keep me entertained. but....

boston legal has become an unintentional parody of the practice, and i'm pissed off about it. the practice is probably one of the best drama series of the last 20 years (if not longer), and boston legal had steadily driven their legacy into the ground.

i'm not sure why i continue to dvr boston legal, because week after week i tune in for disappointment. let's lake a more detailed look at last night's episode:

deny crane is arrested again. this recycled plot theme occurs about once every three episodes. creatively speaking, it's pathetic.

not one, but two flash from the past characters. (usually a big indicator that ratings are suffering and thoughts of cancellation have already started, i'm not surprised or disappointed).

the rest of the plot is totally irrelevant; all you need to know is deny is saved by a closing argument soliloquy from alan shore.

speaking of alan shore....

the (once) sole redeeming factor of boston legal was the james spaders character, alan shore, but now even he sucks. his character has devolved into a some sort of superstereotype of what he once was.

i'm ready to see the one go. i'll still watch the season 1 dvds from time to time, but everything they've put out in the last 2.5 seasons has just been....tired.

.... oh by the way, the only theme i was more disapointed to see return other than the "word-salad" bit was christian clemenson's character graduation from function to supporting. the chracter jerry espinson is a comedy black hole.
