So the family of this couple was wanting this couple to give this baby up for adoption? With family, why were they living in Joy Junction? No one in the entire family could help this baby and her family? Then the CYFD allowed this to continue and Joy Junction tried and then allowed it to continue. The family first and then the CYFD should be so ashamed. Everyone lost - especially the baby. Obviously someone thought they were not capable of handling this and obviously that was true. Too bad they didn't step in prior to her abuse.

If they are here illegally why should they be protected from anything to do with their illegal status. If they want to keep their families whole, then come here legally and it won't be a problem. We, the citizens of this state and country are paying for these families to stay together and wonder why Taos thinks it is fine for the rest of us to accept this and pay for this. It is very sad that people have to escape their own countries, but we keep paying and paying. The cost of medical care alone is more than we can afford and I do not understand Taos at all. It is not fine to be politically correct at the expense of your own state and country.

Sorry I do think you are right. I know most of them are not nice people that made a youthful mistake. I do not think most were unjustly registered and sorry I left that impression. I just think we have to deal with them no matter what if they are let out of prison. So would prefer to know where they are instead of under a bridge, which I think is just asking for someone to get hurt. I keep thinking an island for violent sex offenders is where we need to head and let them make things and support themselves without being so scary and dangerous to the rest of us. I think of that Couey (sp) fellow that raped and murdered that little girl (I believe in Florida) and think what a monster he was and how he should have never been out, but the courts let them go and then we are left with the mess. If he had been sent to an island or even someplace where he was watched, she would still be alive. Instead he was living with a meth smoking sister who never watched him, and he ruined all these lives. We had better think of a better way. I guess I just don't have the answer.

I think the Navajo nation should look into this for help with obviously electricity on their lands, but it would bring much money to them. Texas is just really doing well with this, with many people making good money for the use of a little land to put the turbines. I don't know culturally if this is alright, but if they have coal, it seems a turbine would be fine.

Oh good grief. We all know they did something wrong. We don't want them to do it again because they can't eat or live or find a place to be. If they are watched and together, it seems they would be more in control and not do something ELSE really wrong. What I don't know is if all these men are pedophiles or had sex with a 16 yr. old. There is a difference. I just know that when hungry and desperate, people can get to where nothing matters again and then they are not in control. Control seems to be their issue and want them to be together where we know what is going on and where they are. I am a 55 yr. old women with big kids and no ties to any of this. I just am watching from the sideline and think we had better figure this out soon. I do want someone who understands this in charge and watching.

Well, there will always be some nut and never assume anyone is logical, sober, clear thinking individuals. I wouldn't allow my eight year old to go anywhere by herself, no matter what. I would take him/her to school, pay someone to be at the bus stop each day or something. I took mine to school early or a morning program that would take them to school each day so they wouldn't be walking around without some adult there. It just makes good sense.

No she doesn't have a life. She isn't helping others, just herself. Walk your kids to school, the bus stop, wherever. In Florida, I wouldn't let my kids walk alone anywhere and wouldn't let a little one walk alone anywhere. I would rather know they are there, than to not know.

Well this is wrong of her and extremely hateful. They do have to have somewhere to live and it is better to have them in one place, instead of ninty different places. Barbara Ferris does need a life. Walk your kids to the bus stop. You obviously have the time. Geez, what a hateful thing to do. I don't agree with what they did to get there, but do think we had better make sure they can live so they don't end up desperate and then do something really wrong.

Now they cancelled because they had too much interest and demand? Seems like it would be better to serve those they can and then let the rest go to the clinics. Not sure this makes sense. Was it dangerous or something?

Oh I think this is a dangerous precedent and a dangerous thing to ask anyone to do. Someone will end up getting hurt if people start following people they think are drunk or impaired.

Isn't it possible that if NM made it illegal to sell liquor in a store like Allsups till midnight, it would help cut down on the DWI's and many other problems. It would be nice to know you could go out in this state really, without running into a checkpoint. It isn't as though we are out doing something wrong, but it is an invasion and a pain. Why not sell liquor at a liquor store till 9:00 PM and not in the convenience stores till midnight. It really seems it would help. I think the checkpoints have become a money maker for them and they like it. If you are completely bombed on Gin and then go to the store at 11:30 to get more, it is a problem. If they can't get it maybe they would stay home.

How can this not be premeditated. They were just carrying around a bottle of alcohol and a lighter to what, burn bugs, take care of a cut? Right. They were planning this and for the police to not treat it as premeditated and charge them as adults is a sham. I don't want them on the streets.

What is wrong with the Mexicans? This is crazy. Something seriously wrong with this picture. Maybe if the country wasn't so completely corrupt, everyone would stay there and make Mexico a great country. Why would everyone leave it to these thugs? If the Mexicans can't handle this, then maybe we should just go ahead and invade and make it another state. It would be safer and cheaper. Wonder if everyone here from Mexico would go home to fight for their country or would they stay and fight for this country? At any rate, this is out of hand and is killing more than cartels.

Oh jealousy and greed are a terrible thing. Let the people of NM sell their wares at the bridge. Who cares. It makes the Taos pueblo look small and fearful and it doesn't make me want to go there or buy their wares or support them in any way. It is one of the things that is so noticeable in NM, that no one is out selling on the road. It is as though everyone is afraid someone else might make a little more money or take attention away from them. Oh grow up.

I agree totally. He should have to return to jail and serve the full 48 hours. But 48 hours seems lame. Now if one of us that are not lawyers, politicians or judges been charged, I imagine it would have been more time anyway. Wonder if they took his car away too. I don't see why he should get special treatment and it sure doesn't look good for anyone involved. Judge Murdock and Judge Walton should actually hold Higgins more accountable as he should know better than almost anyone to not drive while intoxicated and he is an officer of the court, right?

Well, it is a shame that the Sheriff dept. did not have the bracelets, but surely Golden Mesa retirement home is at fault. I have never heard of a retirement home that would let a Alzheimer's patient wander away. If they are not able to properly keep up with their pts. then they should be shut down. I feel certain there would be door alarms and if not, why not if you have pts. like this in your facility. What a shame.
