I remember your store and I remember you! My first time I went the store was on 6th Ave and you had to walk down some stairs. Wide sidewalk out front, always skaters hanging out front. I lived on the Upper West Side where there was nothing like this. I also remember when the shop moved to Varick st. I spent summer job checks on a bunch of Stussy t-shirts, shorts and pants (with velcro tabs on the waist, no belt loops). Those were great days. Thank you!

Here's DeMartini's website where you can buy a messenger bag. Unfortunately you can't walk in to the Globe canvas shop on Mott Street and pick from over 20 different colors and styles including 2-tone. The owner passed away in 2000, and the name was sold. The bags sold today aren't made by the same father and daughter team who made them by hand in the 90's. The "new" bags still look official, just know that the bags aren't from the same source.

No they didn't manufacture or sell their own decks. There was a skate spot called "Benji's". Which began from an apartment in a building near the Brooklyn banks. It then became a little skate shop near the banks, I don't remember the exact address, I think it was near East Broadway. Benji's sold blank decks which became known as Benji boards. That was the last deck I ever bought. That was in 1990.

She really is. Could that body suit fit any better?? Its like one of those presents you get that is wrapped so beautifully that you don't want to open it. You just stare at it. When you do open it, you carefully remove the tape piece by piece.

Yeah, this was before most TV's had remote controls. I remember being in my room, sitting in the dark with one hand close to the cable box so I could change the channel quickfast, just in case mom busted into the room.
