Awesome podcast!! One nitpick item (several podcasters do this for some reason), at the end of the podcast you tell people to leave a review on iTunes. Keep in mind, there is a whole world out there that does not use Apple products, so might be better to just keep it more general when asking for reviews (or just list off some of the most popular platforms like iTunes, CastBox, Stitcher, Google, Spotify etc...). So glad I came across your podcasts and look forward to seeing what is in store (and getting your book)>

Keep in mind, Mylan had zero to do with the development of the Epipen, they simply purchased from I think Merk Germany. There has not been one change to the EpiPen, only the increase in Mylan profits and CEO salary...

No clue why but I just randomly decided to check out Geektonic this morning after over a year of checking, glad I did!! Good to see you posting again and hope everything is going well. I have pretty much stopped blogging, too much stuff going on between work/family life and honestly not a lot of interesting tech stuff to talk about (at least that relates to me). Just something as simple as adding a new drive to my server takes me over a week to get to. Now that I think about it I probably have a new HDD sitting on my desk at home unopened for several weeks lol.

Welcome back. I can definitely empathize with getting burnt out. I definitely don't have the same desire to invest so much time and effort into tech/blogging, but still try to cover a few items here and there.

I don't understand why it has to be an iPad killer? They can both coexist, especially if Microsoft finally gets this done correctly (not just with the Surface but also with the OEMs).

no it won't, the original ipad is substantially bigger (I have te ipad with otter box and ipad 2 which shouldbe similar in size to the new iPad)

There has been some speculation that Netflix would eventually come to the Dune. However, I would not expect it for the current models until there is some sort of official announcement

I got a Kindle Fire for my wife for Christmas which arrived yesterday. I am not sure what to think of the reviews so far. This is not an iPad or for that matter many of the higher quality Android tablets, so it is tough to filter through some of the reviews where comparisons are made against. Really, all you can do is look at how the Fire performs as a standalone tablet, how the UI, navigation, etc... work, and this is what has me a bit worried based on what I have read. I am definitely looking forward to your review, and will probably wait a few weeks before I decide if I ship back to Amazon.

Support digital QAM (HDHomerun), Cable Card (HDHR Prime, etc...), and allow for DVR functionality. Until that comes this is pointless IMO.

Yeah, I know for my 32GB iPad we are now in the mode of trying to manage storage space as between the Apps and movies it is nearly maxed out. At a minimum having the ability to expand the space available would be a big plus (I don't know if I am in the minority here, but the space issues are more because my boys use our iPads).
I know ASUS has already announced that Ice Cream is coming to the current EeePad, so I would imagine many of the other tablets will be getting as well since they all have similar specs.

To be honest though, my hope if for a legitmate Windows 8 tablet, which at least for me would make iOS and Android a moot point. Of course this relies on MS getting W8 right, but if they do I do believe it would definitely hurt the iOS/Android market.

As an EeePad and iPad owner good job on the comparisons. I would choose the EeePad over any other Android tablet right now because of the keyboard dock which I do end up using extensively. If I wasn't looking to use a keyboard dock I probably would have chosen a different tablet over the EeePad. More HC specific Apps have come out (and I guess when Ice Cream comes out it will become moot?), but the iPad definitely has the leg up. As opposed to you, the lack of expandable memory is a drawback for me tbh. It is easier for me to just grab the SD card out of the EeePad, pop in my PC, move files around, and add back. Also, since these tablets have essentially become video jukeboxes for me and my family the standard 32GB memory doesn't really cut it

I have never used Mint (I have been using quicken for quite a long time). Don't know how comfortable I would be having access to my financial data on a tablet (I guess as long as you have everything properly password protected it isn't as much of an issue)

The bb outage actually had nothing to do on our side with looking at other phones (but amazing what horrible timing considering all the scrutiny towards BB). In general it has just been a bad experience with bb phones (aside from email). There really is no reason to have confidence that BB is going to get their act together.

I must have been your inspiration for this post :) Another partner at my firm wants to dump BB for either iPhone or Android, and he is actually leaning towards Android. I still haven't made the final decision yet on which direction to. Go nice laying all this stuff out
