So sorry to hear you got smacked by the power outage. That happened last year here in the Saint Louis are twice. Once in the summer and again at the start of December. Areas to the west on north of Saint Louis got whacked this week, but we dodged the bullet. I hope they get your power up soon. Stay warm and safe.

This would be a nice enhancement to have. I usually end up building the folders as I go along. Some may only have one item, but I end with a tree that is all folders that looks nice.

I have looked at the tiddlywikie before, but have not yet figured out how I should use it. Any suggestions or have you been using it.

I have been playing with the Tiddlywiki. I am starting to get some ideas on how I can use it to leverage a lot of inforamtion that I have stuffed in binders on my desktop. I may even be pulling stuff from my GoogleDocs to put into it. I still need to search about for more information about it on the sites they recommend for getting assistance. I am planning on moving my Firefox to my 1GB drive and putting my wiki on it also.

I agree with Devon on the One Config, One File, One Part Number Scheme. In our office we have problems with files that have multiple configs like bar stock. If I need to add on to it and someone else is using it. I have to have them exit it or add the part I need to the config.

We do try to keep the configs if used to the least number possible if we do use them.

I just try to avoid doing things in context at all. Just more stuff to get out of whack while I issue a multitude of 4 letter expletives while fixing it.

I'm looking forward to the final release. I just recently started using Firefox portable on my 2GB thumb drive to work on my Tiddlywiki files. The new version of Firefox has some superb improvements to make your browsing a lot better.

The best part I love about Firefox is the add-ins, so many to choose from and new ones popping up all the time.

I learned a new method from one of Barry-Wehmiller International Resources division contractors we have working for us. They use weldments to generate a lot of stuff. The guy is designing a new machine for us and one of the big items that chews up the assembly is piping. He did all the piping for the machine in a weldment as a SINGLE PART. I am going to go back through the help file and read up on weldments!!!!

I agree with Charges on the shortcuts. I would like to see more shortcuts at the top of the home page that are static and appear on all pages. I just like it that way because it makes it easier to navigate and most of the sites for vendors tend to do that I visit often.

Perhaps you have become a blogoholic. The intense need to get ideas out of your mind and out into the open for everyone else to read and comment on. It starts small with on or two posts every couple of days then it explodes into two or three a day. I look forward to the day's when you will pop off about 20 per day. :)

I have been waiting for this day! I hope they release the portable version at the same time, that is what I have been using. Makes it convenient to drag all my bookmarks and passwords around with me between work and home and on the road.

Currently, I am still on 2007. Our company has a bizarre setup on Solidworks and other software now. Our location is at the corporate HQ in Clayton, MO. We manufacture in Phillips, WI. The division in Phillips now controls our licenses and will not permit us to upgrade until they do. Now, this is pretty bogus since each of our engineering departments are totally separate and we are on completely different servers for our files and neither department has access to the others servers. The Phillips IT department has all the control over our computers and software, yet the corporate IT department gives us the support and runs our network and servers.
