hmmm Google Voice is really only available for the US and it's currently on invite only. Since this is a Canadian site I thought that should be mentioned. Unless I've been given wrong information.

I've just decided to switch all my blog comments in Drupal to use Disqus. The simplicity of bypassing adding spam control, Facebook connect, and all the other social features make it well worth it. My only concern was the SEO impact of doing this. From what I have read, Disqus should be fine for SEO purposes. I guess time will tell.

#8 seems to be a big mistake with newbies, sending all traffic to the homepage. There's nothing more frustrating as a consumer than this. Make sure you use appropriate landing pages.
