In my opinion it is in deed an easy option to place children in the care system under section 20. More available support for families should be readily available. Which again my experience of working with various local authorities is sadly lacking. The S/Workers and support workers are generally not allowed to carry out "common sense" approaches to working with families due to pressure from their managers and local authorities. The paperwork they have to do as part of their responsibilities is at times unbielevably lengthy and time consumming.
