The American population self-identifies as predominantly Christian but Americans are slowly becoming less Christian. • 86% of American adults identified as Christians in 1990 and 76% in 2008.

Thank gawd. Self-righteous pontificators like Kenneth Wilson who predict doom and gloom for America will eventually be talking only to themselves.

Because I care about the hate, violence, intolerance, and ignroance that belief in a mythological deity has caused mankind since the day that man first created God and his son.

At one time God was wonderful and nobody questiuoned his greatness. Now, in recent times as people like me have been pointing out that God is a cruel, vindictive, captirious, irrational being, Chrristian apoligists have been saying that the pain and suffering on planet earth is all man's fault, not the fault of the omnipotent, onnicient, all-loving and merciful God who dreated us in his own image. Admit it, the guy/gal is an ogre. You cannot tell me one good deed that God has ever done to improve the human condition. Please don't tell me about the undocumented time that he comforted you in a time of mental anguish. That doesn't cut it.

Fortunately, the harm religion has done to humanity may be slowly coming to an end. The fastest growing "religion" is no religion. The percentage of Americans claiming no religion, jumped from 8.2 persent in 1990 to 15 percent in 2008.

More people like you and I are now willing to speak out about the horrors of religion. Obviously, this is opening the eyes and minds of many who had previously just accepted without question the lies they had heard about the need for and value of religion.

Keep speaking out. I certainly will be. I'll see you in the "lake of fire after" the all-loving and forgiving one throws us in.

We cannot tax churches. After all, they do wonders for humanity. Why I once heard about a church sending a bottle of water to hurricane victims. Of course, there were a few strings attached. The recipient had to profess his love for Jeezuz before he could drink the water.

Actually God is partial to people who kill and maim. There has never been a more war mongering group than his "chosen people."

This is the God who ordered, “Utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass,” I Samuel 15:2, 3.

Murder and mayhem are His favorite pastimes.

Religion once gave us the senseless law: "Thou shalt have not other gods before me." The cruel and irrational penalty for violating this law: "He that sacrifieth unto any god, save unto the Lord only, he shall be utterly destroyed. Men of reason gave us a constitution with its First Amendment that gives us the right to worship any god or no god. Who are better law givers--rational men or men inspired by the word of God?

Sometime I hope an evangeliccal can explain why every person who doesn't share their superstitions is angry. All you are saying is that I cannot rebut your fact laden statements. Ultimately this leads to,,"You hate God and Christians."
I don't hate any mythological beings and I don't hate Christians. I only oppose absurd ideas, dangerous practices and politics. I express this opposition only when Christian conservatives express their faith publically; and tell me that I should share their faith in order to attain God's mercy and dispose of my anger. God means nothing to me--why do you care...

Anyone wanting a good laugh can read Bible science about four-legged chickens, Leviticus 11:20; unicorns, Deuteronomy 33:17; a talking ass (do donkeys bray or pray?) Numbers 22:27-33; and a forest where trees and shrubs talk to each other, Judges 9:8-15. These are probably found at "the four corners of the earth," Isaiah 11:12. Oh, you say that the Bible's obviously absurd passages are merely "figures of speech." Then could it be that the whole book is allegory — not science, historical fact or acceptable ethics?

I am afraid it will not do much for their careers in science and engineering if they are taught that pi equals 3.00. II Chronicles 4:2 describes a circle with a diameter of 10 cubits and a circumference of 30 cubits. Pi is the ratio of circumference to diameter of a circle.
