One of the social networks we use that you left off is YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/infu... - another great way to connect with customers & get feedback. As a marketing exec, social media is a tough one to measure. Sometimes, you just have to risk it, let it ride, then try to figure out how to measure. One figure I'm confident of is Infusionsoft's use of social media has increased customer satisfaction. The traditional call-in model for support doesn't satisfy today's web-savvy entrepreneur. They expect, and should receive, help and support through various channels... be it a post to a Facebook page, a tweet, or a comment on our blog. I look forward to the evolution of social media tracking & monitoring tools so I can continue to justify our investment in social media for customer loyalty, brand awareness, demand generation, etc.

Re: Our Latest Software Updates

Clate - I finally took a moment to install the Outlook integration and play around. All I can say is WOW! Like you, I'm not "in" Infusionsoft like I used to be because I have a team setting up follow-up sequences, web forms, reports, etc. Without any training, from Outlook I was able to easily add a new contact to Infusionsoft, add notes, initiate a follow-up sequence, tag, etc. Very cool! I'm biased - but serious props to the product managers & developers that made this a reality.

Re: Analyze This! (Building an Analytics Culture)

Tyler - A HUGE thanks for the new dashboard. I shared it with the rest of the executive team and we LOVE it. Seriously, that's all we need - a weekly snapshot of key items including site analytics, leads generated, advertising spend, and other important things learned during the week. Your magic even tamed Mike (our CFO)! When the executive team has the data and sees that the marketing team operates off of data & testing, we are much more open to taking the time to learn the effects of changing things, rather than wildly changing things based on 'gut'. I applaud the disciplined approach.

Re: A message from the founder, Scott Martineau

Scott -- thank you for helping make this possible! We've been dreaming about this day for a LONG time.

Re: 5 Lessons We Learned from Billy Mays

Joe - Excellent post and tribute to Billy Mays. This is a huge loss to the direct marketing/sales world - we've lost a legend. Personally, I was looking forward to many episodes of Pitchmen and using them in my ongoing education as a direct marketer/sales geek. I wish the best to his family & friends.

Re: Entelluit, Intullium...Either Way Intuit Buying Entellium's Assets Makes Sense

Brent - thanks for the post. This is an interesting development that could salvage a pretty solid product and help the Entellium customers who have not deserted yet. It seems that Entellium was pushing further upstream in terms of customer size... away from small business... and I wonder if Intuit plans on aligning this CRM offering with their newer "Enterprise" suite (http://enterprisesuite.intu....

Re: Top Books For Entrepreneurs

Thanks for the comments! I'm fairly new to the world of blogging, but plan to contribute more & more. I took a look at your blog and really like what I see. In your recent post on customers, you mentioned a printer in Perth. I know some chaps down in those parts... namely Mal Emery. Are you from Australia... or just have friends in remote places?!

Re: Be The “Odd Man Out”

Hi Ashley - I didn't realize your new book hasn't been published yet. My good friend, Oprah, sent me a pre-release copy it. Just kidding -- my wife clipped the quote out of a recent "O" magazine (maybe the December issue). Congrats on hitting the "O-radar" and good luck with the release!

--Dave

PS -- You may want to contact Timothy Ferriss, author of "The 4-Hour Workweek" - he truly mastered promoting his book.

Re: The 4-Hour Workweek Myth

Thanks Dan -- I look forward to hearing Tim speak at some point in the future. Maybe we can get him out to our March '08 user conference!
