Russia? So sorry, no way you can get 28 votes around the table in Brussels to nuke Russia...and no consensus means no action at NATO, as you surely know.

Iran? So sorry, Turkey vetoes that one. Thompson and (nominally) Bill Arnsparger. The most scholarly work I've ever seen on American football, and I've seen a few.

Oh, and also -- Winning Single Wing Football by the late Dr. Kenneth Keuffel. As fine a book on offensive football as you'll ever see, regardless of the system you use (from my Amazon review):

"To me, the most important section of the book starts with Chapter 8 and runs through Chapter 10. Here is where Dr. Keuffel's decades of experience truly shine through -- he discusses the smallest details of pre-game strategy and mid-game tactical adjustments. He tells coaches exactly how to use the spotter in the booth, how to break down film, and how to create and use a game plan. It is among the finest discussions of coaching strategy and tactical application during the game that I have ever seen.

"Offensive coaches of all stripes should purchase WSWF for these three chapters alone. The effective use of: variations in formation, cadence, alignment, and personnel; pre-season preparations; and focusing on and exploiting defensive weaknesses, are all addressed with Dr. Keuffel's typical economy of expression.

"This book is pure gold, whether you run single wing, Power-I or five-wide shotgun spread, because he teaches coaches how to THINK."

Re: Was Mises Bankrolled by the Financial Elite?

>That is because I haven't read yet the works of the Austrian pioneers.

Start here:

http://library.mises.org/bo...

Then read this (and take good notes -- highlight freely, especially the things you're not sure you understand at first):

http://library.mises.org/bo...

...and have fun!

Re: Football Coaching Resources

...and here's a must-read for coaches who want to understand the true nature of this little wargame of ours:

http://www.amazon.com/Strat...

Re: Taoism – A Libertarian Association?

There is actually a strong case to be made for libertarian Christianity, if/if you conceive of the relationship between God and man as being based on free will and free choice...

Re: Foreign Service Veterans Dispel the Myths

So specialists aren't diplomats...so much for building team spirit, Ms. Johnson.

Re: Foreign Service Veterans Dispel the Myths

But as Jaycasey will no doubt be happy to explain to you, Hank, you weren't REALLY a diplomat. For the market price is, at every moment, determined by the voluntary, mutually agreed-upon actions of all the participants in the market. It is the objective resultant of every individual's subjective valuations and voluntary actions, and is therefore the only existent objective criterion for 'quantitative justice' in pricing.

Re: H.L.
