Troy Davis died because of religion and superstition. The overly religious South is famous for demanding "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth". With a lack of evidence and witnesses recanting, it is obvious that something other than common sense was the determining factor to go ahead with an execution in the first place. People in the overly religious South are going to have to evolve beyond the intellect of a Farm Animal or that culture will collapse in on itself. People should live by intellect instead of instinct and the birth products of this ignorance is evident in the killing of an innocent man...

The ranking Republican on the House Subcommittee on Immigration says Democrats have refused to pass an amendment that would prevent illegal aliens from being covered in the Obama healthcare plan.

Democrats recently defeated a Republican-backed amendment offered by Rep. Dean Heller (R-Nevada) that would have prevented illegal immigrants from receiving government-subsidized healthcare under the proposed plan backed by House Democrats and President Obama.

Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa), the ranking member on the House Immigration Subcommittee, finds it outrageous that Democrats want to force hardworking Americans to foot the healthcare bill for those who are in the country illegally.

"The Democrats will not even allow an amendment to be debated on the subject matter. They have shut down the debate process here, and they have pushed any discussion -- however minimal it is -- up to the secret room up in the Rules Committee. They're not going to debate it," he points out. "They are determined to fund health insurance and healthcare for illegals -- and the number turns out to be 5.6 million that would be insured under this bill. [Those are] Congressional Budget Office numbers."

King suspects the actual number will be double that estimate or more.

Everything the government sticks it's dirty claws into always takes it's toll on the American people. During World War 2 the government passed the income tax on the American people and no one said anything because " it was for the war effort". It was also said that the tax would later be repeeled when the war was over. The amount was trivial at first but has grown to nearly half of an individual's pay day. The deception here is incrementalism or " a little bit at a time". Next the government started a war on poverty and now there are more people in poverty than ever before. Next government started a war on drugs , well that one is in your face as now there are more drugs and more police than ever and availability is better than ever also. Next the government started the war on terrorism. At present this country is involved in conflicts all over the world, and on television will say that we even have home grown terror here in our own country. Now it's socialized medicine. This is not too popular now but it will be when the flu is propogandised in the paper and on television as being worse than the bubonic plague. This artlicle is right that we are presently envolved is some form of socialized medicine (free healthcare) and we are more than likley more envolved in socialism than we all know as everyone you know has a socialist "security card." I sometimes wonder if the American people remember what happened in their lives the day before if they do not remember all these things as " Those who do not remember their history are doomed to repeat it" and in the famous words of someone everyone all knows :' Lucky for rulers that men do not think" -------- Adolf Hitler. This government has always done right by it's people wouldn't you say?

Maybe the children should learn that our government (Federal and State) is actually a "Plutocracy" . We are supposed to be a " Republic" but on Television they will tell you that it is a "Democracy" The money is worthless because of what Confederate American said below my comment. This country has went down hill since the creation of the "Federal Reserve" (Central Bank) in 1913. Andrew Jackson fought the bankers while he was president so that the value of money would be consistant (currency without any backing is worthless) . Our so called rulers are lieing to us . If a man who was manufacturing crystal meth and was told that it was illegal as far as the law goes and he would reply " I am going to do it anyway" then in the real world if he gets caught then the police are all over him like flies on something in a cow pasture. Point made except I read this : "The Daily Home newspaper warned Park Board members that the reason board members stated for the executive session did not meet the criteria of state law.

There is one reason that silly things like this can happen ; there are two sets of rules (law) that are in place , one for the common folks and one for the elites as they want to be referred to : politicians, police (the agents for the politicians) ,judges and members of the court, and people that are wealthy with ties to the afore mentioned people. They the politicians expect the common folks to abide by the letter of the law and a police officer will chase an individual down like a murderer for going five miles over the speed limit. Why then was there no police swarming at this event mentioned in the above article. It's called a double standard and will continue as it has because it is the unspoken word. This is the reason I have no respect for the "so called law" and it's composers and it's en"forcers" . Thanks Daily Home for reporting " trivial" things like this that usually go by the wayside without so much as a mention.

" The key word in the above quote is the mention of the city of "Leeds" and not Talladega. There will be no park or no growth in Talladega because of greedy control freaks called politicians. What is it about most men and women when they get into politics that most go rogue? Poor Poor Talladega looks like a ghost town now and it's probably going to get more ghosty in the future. I have no respect for politicians or any of their agencys. Kick back money rules the day.

Here is government at it's best. They will take what they want using any means but still want to be shown in the media in a good light. Government will be doing the same thing to the landowners soon as most municipalities are barely existing on grants from "daddy" government . Watch for a doubling or tripling of property tax to be run thru the media and the punch line will be " we have to do this to help the children " or some lame excuse . It's amazing that a judge allowed something like this to happen to a private property owner (It shows you where the judge is standing and what kind of a man he is). Now that the property is to be condemned thru a petition I reckon that Pell City will take possession of the well property for pennies on the dollar. Now that's a good deal any way you look at it !! Hurray for government as they only do what is in the best interest of the people!!!

Former Congressman and House Majority Leader Dick Armey warns that the government is planning to exploit a hyped swine flu outbreak this fall in order to reinvigorate support behind its failing Obamacare agenda.

Armey is confident that the grass roots backlash against Obamacare will cause the plan to fail, but warns that the government has one last trick up its sleeve which it is preparing to pull in the next few months.

The former House leader told the Financial Times that wavering lawmakers in both parties might be won over by an engineered crisis that the Obama administration is planning to exploit.

“In September or October there will be a hyped up outbreak of the swine flu which they’ll say is as bad as the bubonic plague to scare the bed-wetters to vote for healthcare reform,” said Mr Armey. “That is the only way they can push something on to the American people that the American people don’t want.”

As we reported last week, Georgia Congressman Paul Broun gave a similar warning when he told attendees of a town hall event Tuesday that the Obama administration was planning to use a pandemic or a natural disaster to implement martial law in the United States.

Speaking at the North Georgia Technical College auditorium, Broun said that the “socialistic elite,” as well as Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, were planning to exploit a crisis to create a favorable climate for their stalling political agenda.

“They’re trying to develop an environment where they can take over,” he said. “We’ve seen that historically.”
For those that can put "blind faith " in our caring Federal Government I say line up and get injected as there is no need to worry because they only care about your well being and would never do anyone any harm. Just ask the Tuskegee airmen as they did not think the government would inject them with venerial disease either.

This money comes from billions of dollars alloted from the "Obamanation" to help all municipalitys kick up their police "force". Read part of the above article "Chief Alan Watson said the larger of the two grants is part of the federal stimulus package worth $271,000 with no local match. This grant will be used to hire two additional police officers for three years. " . With economic collapse and swine flu pandemic being propogandized on television then the police along with the communications hub " 911 center" will be directing people to the appropriate place to go " internment camp". You might be right destry_brown but maybe these over zealous wanna be's are using the tv program " cops " as a training video. They forget that everyone of them swore an oath on the U.S Constittution and the Constitution of the State of Alabama and I would be willing to bet that not many could quote any of the oath that they swore to upkeep. How can you sware an oath on something that you do not understand and that is why the bully " thug" mentality persists. The Bill of Right is almost non existant now, as the police tend to get a buzz when they get to turn on the siren and the blue lights.

I have talked to the woman of the so called " puppy mill" and she told me spent a lot of time and money keeping the dogs in food and water . The maggots mentioned in the article came from a dead bird that was nearby and dogs tend to wallow in things like that. I also heard from someone that went to the shelter and said there were no sick dogs with sores or anything of the like. The police had no buisness envolved in anything like this. If there is no victum then there is no crime. I hope that none of those dogs are sent out for adoption or are spayed or neutered as those dogs do not belong to them . The whole story has apparently been sensationalized in the paper and on television. Looks like it was just a slow news day and this women and her dogs were pulled out of the hat. Too bad we do not live in a live and let live world because everybody has got to be involved in every ones buisness other then their own.

If you think that jail is justified for the dog owners on Cemetary Mountain then how do you feel about the police officer in Childersburg that shot and KILLED an 18 year old boy in the back of the head nearly a year ago and not a word has been heard about it? Do you and your strong opinion feel that the police officer should go to jail for what he did or will your reply be apologetic for the police officer while the dog owner should go to jail ? You are going to make a good slave as you are not paying any attention to what your government is doing if front of your face. Your overwelming support of the police is not going to help you soon as your proirites are in support of dogs instead of humans. If you have a caring heart , instead of carrying food to the dog shelter why not carry food down to the county jail as those men are in no better place than the puppys were on Cemetary Mountain.

You are either affiliated with the police in some way or you are married to one or otherwise how in the world could you say this? "Should someone present a warrant for my underwear, as a LAW ABIDING citizen, I would have to obey. Should an officer tell me to get out of my car with my hands up, I will happily do so. I will say this again ; you do not live in Berlin , Germany 1939 and Adolf Hitler is not your furor so therefore you do not know your Constitution or your Bill of Rights. Just listen to what you said above in your comment. :"If you want to make a livelihood in the pet selling industry, do it the right way, pay your taxes, buy your licenses, pass inspections, and have what is called an HONEST LIVING- that way, no "government" will HAVE to confiscate "your property". Why are you giving legitimacy to government and saying if you do not have a licenses and pay your taxes and pass a government inspection that you are illegitimate? Do you live in Berlin ,Germany 1939? What has the government to do with private enterprise? What would you do if government came to your house and confiscated your children because they had an opinion that they were not not being cared for like they( the government) thought fitting? From the evidence that I can view personally Sylacauga is a Hitlarian wanna be. As I have said in another comment ,you cannot ride thru town without running into a roadblock and robbed by Robin Hood in a uniform, the mayor and the city council are about themselves and no one else because the whole city is in turmoil ., the school system is the worst as any parent that allows too many absences will have a warrant sworn out for thier arrest. There needs to be a sign when folks drive into the city limits that says " This city is a dictatorship , enter at your own peril". People will become fed up with the "Hitler type leadership " after a while and then what will "Sillycauga" do then? If I lived in Sillycauga I would move before the sun went down.

The honorable men that "WE THE PEOPLE" have put into representation on our behalf has sold out the public school system as they have much more important things to blow the tax payers money on at this particular time ( PARTYS , LIQUOR , VACATIONS, WOMEN , CARS ETC) . I am however greatly alarmed at how "Hitlarian" the school system in Sylacauga has become not to mention the Germanic police force to boot. Here is a paragraph from the June 20th "Daily Home" on the way that things are going to be at the Sylacauga Schools this year.: "Now parents will receive a second notification at the third unexcused absence. Early warning meetings will still be scheduled after the fifth, and the seventh absence, “school officials will sign a warrant on parents of students in elementary school through grade 6.

“School officials will file a petition in juvenile court on students in grades 7-12,” the new attendance policy continues.
Well you have to a ask yourself ; Who do these children belong to , the parents or the school ? A warrant for too many absences? Adolf Hitler would be proud as we need these children in school because for each child who is in school each day that equals a dollar amount from the Federal Government. Then if that is not enough I read this about the Sylacauga school system in the above article. :"Sylacauga city schools opened the school year with three professional development training days for teachers. These training sessions focused on technology education and behavior management. Behavior management???? Evidently they must consider the children to be goats as in the article above they refer to the children as "KIDS". Those teachers at Sylacauga school system knows very well that a kid is a baby goat and not a human child so what do you do? It appears that there is little or no representaion in the great city of Sylacauga as you can' t drive thru town without running into a police road block and you have a mayor and a city council who go their own way instead of seeking out the desires of the people they represent and you have a school system that will sign a warrant against parents who allow excessive absences with their children. Maybe Sylacauga should change the name of their town to "Berlin" as that name would be more fitting for the actions of the so called authoritys. Taxation without representation is forbidden and folks will figure that out one day. Hurray for ignorance.

formeremployee, evidently you must think that you live in "Hitler's Germany" as the so called "LAW" states that a man is presumed innocent before a trial can begin and guilt can be determined. If this man as you say is a low life piece of scum and is off the streets and in jail where he belongs then you have convicted him already and all because of what you read in the paper.If this is the case why did'nt the police just shoot him in the head when he got off the plane? You would be screaming your innocence if it were you being accused. Because of this attitude the courts are corrupted also as the only courts that produce a not guilty verdict are the courts on television "Matlock and Perrry Mason". You need to educate yourself instead of attacking another commentor because of your ignorance. Go to the library and check out a book on the three branches of government and when you get finished reading it carry it to the judge , the police, and the city council as they could learn something they know nothing about as they act as though they live in Hitler's Germany themselves.

terryfant ,most people do not understand just how many different taxes they pay as I will list just a few of many : Accounts receivable taxes, automobile registration taxes, building permit taxes, capital gains taxes, cdl license taxes, cigarette taxes, corporate income taxes, court fines (indirect taxes), estate taxes, federal imcome tax, fishing license taxes, food license taxes, fuel permit taxes, gasoline tax (42 cents per gallon in 2007), hunting license taxes, inventory taxes, irs interest charges ( tax on top of tax), liquor tax, local income taxes, marrige license taxes, property taxes, real estate taxes, social security taxes, road usage taxes (truckers), sales taxes, school taxes, state income taxes, telephone taxes ( landline , cellular etc.) traffic fines (direct tax) utility taxes, vehicle sales taxes and the list is endless. An answer to your question " what is your suggestion ? is : accountability to politicians and men that desire to hold office in government , let the word treason be defined and anyone caught getting money under the table to be treated as the rest are treated , no more double standards . Taxation without representation is wrong and the citizens are being bled dry as per the list of taxes above. thanks for your reply

Let's go one step better terryfant , why not do away with taxes altogether as silly little men who involve themselves in government can't seem to be responsible with the large sums of money that taxing the poor people generates. For the most part taxes is keeping government alive with all it's agents and agencys. If you make a mistake on balancing your checkbook then thats too bad as you will have to pay a penalty but if they make a mistake well that's a horse of a different color. On a whole government is stealing from the citizens and the police are abusing the citizens in the same way. It does not take much to go to jail now but that is not the case for those that are drawing a check from the taxation of the ones who can barely afford to eat. To heck with government and it's agencys and taxes.
