Still perfect for road trips and I'm sure you could same the SSID something of a honeypot but you'd me missing the targets that oops, booted, tripped, and stumbled onto your wifi.

Sometimes I miss Windows mobile for how hacker friendly it was. Sometimes I remember how often I had to reboot it. ;)

Re: DarrenKitchen.net » Blog Archive » New Desk

No, but did I have a choice in the matter anyway? @Snubs and I both got the same desk -- it really is the most area for the least footprint at a reasonable price. I ordered mine two days after hers. Mine showed up in 6 days. Hers took 3 weeks. I gave her mine since I'm a gentleman---err, something.

Re: Which Netbook Should I Get?

Tweaks and hacks can only get you so far. Sure HL2 can be played, but
the bottom line is that the GMA950/945 chipset was not designed for
gaming.

Re: Who wouldn’t want a classic Microsoft T?

Yeah I've got a few Firefox t-shirts. I should keep open source threads in mind next time I'm buying new clothes. I really should support Open Office with a Tee.

And re: all the blog posts, I finally got a system in place that makes it easy for me to keep this damn thing up to date.

Re: HakHouse getting a nice little bump

Hows this?

http://darrenkitchen.net/im...

Re: Growing tired of constant editing

Thought about that. I like the idea but my cards are already maxed out. I'm
powering 4 LCDs off two 8600GTs.

Re: Growing tired of constant editing

You know you're absolutely right. And in fact I used (read: tried a few times) stream the editing session live via ustream and chat and take questions and talk about editing technique and stuff but alas the constant screen capture was such a burden on my machine that I finally gave up.

I need to figure out a way to do that again because it really made editing fun.

Re: Got a new suit

That's really cool, I had no idea you could do video replies.

And thanks, I'm putting forth more effort to blog more frequently about my life.

Anyway, I'll give the USB Missile Launcher control page some more love soon.

Re: Got a new suit

I know right? I've had a GAP/BR card for like two years and never carried a balance on it but I just hit tough times with a ton of unexpected huge expenses like property tax and contractors so I had to do it. I couldn't go to this Christmas party Saturday with all of Shannon's co-workers and be under dressed ya know? Not at a banks xmas party.

Re: Acer Aspire One Review (replaces eeepc 701 as haktop)

Really? I don't find the lack of an optical drive all that upsetting.
I figure it's really just a sign of the times, what with cloud
computing and all. I can remember my first PC without a floppy (both
5.25" and 3.5") and that wasn't a big deal.

The only time I'd really need an optical drive is to install and OS
and even then most linux distros have USB versions and if they don't
its not difficult to burn an iso to USB anyway. Windows gets a little
trickier to install from USB but not by much.

As long as you have another machine with an optical drive, a few good
sized USB drives and a LAN you should be good to go. If sneakernetting
install files from CD via USB doesn't float your boat there's always
sharing out the optical drive of another computer on your LAN and
getting at the media that way.

:)

Re: Does this thing still work?

Ahh sweet Disqus seems pretty tight too!
