I did notice they came back in stock and, now that Amazon is back to selling them directly, the price is down to where it should be.

Re: The Best $150 Over-Ear Headphones

Do you know why the MDR7506 (and all other models in Sony's line of professional headphones) are sold out everywhere? Even direct from Sony, they're listed as sold out. Amazon.com only has them available via 3rd party sellers who have marked the price up to $99.99. Disappointing to say the least. Still quite a bit cheaper than comparable options from other manufacturers, but I don't fancy being gouged by middle men during a temporary supply shortage. Is Sony nixing this product line after decades of success? Or are new models coming out? I am asking to figure out if I should buy now while they are still available for a decent, if marked up price, instead of waiting and missing my opportunity to own a pair of these.

Re: Skitch and Evernote for Entrepreneurship

The link to ehighlighter in the author's bio is missing the colon after "http" and is thus broken.

Re: Nominate Your Favorite Small Business Facebook Page: Top 10 Contest

I nominate Scoops http://www.facebook.com/upt... They're the only ice cream store in the city (county?) which makes their ice cream on site. I love how they use their FB page. They show up in my newsfeed almost daily and it's always a welcome treat.

Re: 14-y-o Florida girl buys foreclosed house with money from Craigslist furniture-selling hobby

Someone else reposted a comment from NPR which highlighted <strike>the fact</strike> their opinion that foreclosed houses selling for $12k are pretty much only available to those with the right connections. The 14 year old girl's mother is a real estate agent. People with perfectly good credit and a down payment are being turned away. This is not a picture of success but of what's wrong.

EDIT: I don't have personal experience with buying foreclosures, so I edited my comment to reflect that the person I was quoting was expressing an opinion and not a fact. I have no idea how difficult or simple the process of buying a foreclosure is.

Re: Internet Marketing on Life Support

Just remember that at no point is a person's conviction in their own beliefs stronger than when those beliefs have been proven false. In studying cults, I saw that most of the big ones didn't hit their tipping point until the members had to deal with that. Their response seemed to be that if they made enough other people believe, then it would really be true.

So be sure to distinguish between the deceived and the deceivers.

Then nail those mofos to the wall.

Re: Internet Marketing on Life Support

"People are waking up and will place much more emphasis on direct response marketing systems (online and offline) that get the lifestyle they want even if it means making less money."

I really think that's what most are after. And they really are waking up.

Re: Internet Marketing on Life Support

Of all the revelations in your post, the stuff I found the most shocking was the drastic changes to merchant account terms. A greedy few ruin very profitable (and perfectly ethical unless abused) tools like up-sells and cross-sells.

People will always be treacherous. That does not surprise or disappoint me. What disappoints me is when the consequences of their actions ripple out far beyond those they touched directly. "A few bad apples ruin the bunch" might seem appropriate but many who will have to deal with these merchant account changes were not in that bunch. They weren't even in the same damn orchard.

EDIT: I do find it frustrating when trying to vet "gurus" because they are so interconnected and cross promoted that they only ever seem to be three degrees of separation from a bad seed.

Re: Making Social Media Marketing Work

Why is anyone hesitant about advertising on their website? Saying it will violate the trust of their readers is a cop-out. What's really holding them back is their own mental hang ups.

Does Oprah have a problem hawking stuff by slapping her name on it? Nope.

Do magazines or other media (online or off) hesitate for a second over putting advertising in their publications? Nope.

You just have to decide what business you're in. Are you trying to become an online personality who talks about anything under the sun (Oprah)? Are you an blogger running a blog about your favorite hobby (Better Homes and Gardens)? Or are you creating your own products to sell?

Whatever the heck you are, the ones who are truly successful in that field sure don't do it for free, and they don't have any moral conflict in doing so.

Do you think Tiger Woods wears a Tag Heuer watch, wears nike, drives a buick and drinks PBR because he likes those things? Ok, so maybe he doesn't drink Pabst. Still, point made.
