Especially since most people just skim this stuff and read the titles. This is such poor journalism that I think the author, Rebecca Greenfield should make an update article/public apology to Chip. To me this unethical reporting is grounds for dismissal, as it tarnishes the Fast Company brand.

Re: Disrupt Your Startup

Great piece, I agree completely. So the question now is, how can Dropbox improve a very tough situation? I think they need to go back and innovate further from their existing offerings. This means offering other functionality. Turning their feature into a full fledged product. I'd say SocialFolders is a great example of how they still have room to innovate further in this space.

http://socialfolders.me/ = Downloads your cloud files to one centralized folder on your computer for when you don't have internet (basically the exact opposite of Dropbox).

Re: Coming Soon: Testing Tuesdays

You could increase the value of paid membership by getting founders who offer business to business services/products to offer discounts on their service to your members for a short period of time after the interview. This would increase the amount of users who try their service (increased value for founder) and it would consistently remind non-paid users of the value of paid membership. You could even charge (a percentage or a flat fee) to the founder for offering this service. Basically a business to business group on but for members only.

Then to increase value of membership, just add in some of the other great ideas others have said.

Re: Coming Soon: Testing Tuesdays

You could increase the value of paid membership by getting founders who offer business to business services/products to offer discounts on their service to your members for a short period of time after the interview. Who Wants To Help Me Lead And Build It?

Andrew I loved your interview with Simon Sinek I always knew my Why but coming up with it specifically and writing it down has really inspired me and will help me inspire my staff. I love how your following your why and I think this is a great direction for mixergy to move in.

Now with this new site people can develop ads for specific topics and industries e.g. SEO and online marketing and what not instead of just deciding to market to your entire community. These ads will be more helpful, relevant and clicked.

I also think their should be a clips section where people can add their favorite clips on a specific topic. E.g. social marketing or developing your tribe. I know you have many interviews on similar topics (I know because I've watched them) but maybe now if we need a refresher and don't want to have to go looking through every interview for one specific tip we forgot we can just look through best of clips and learn from that.

Also if their are queries for specific types of interviews/questions that you are asked for and you don't know who to get on the topic the community can suggest someone or even one of your followers will step up to the plate. You can even develop polls for who should I interview next on this topic and give the viewers the ability to vote and choose. - Doritos sales went up by 22% when they said to their customers you develop our next product and promotion, get votes and the winner will be our superbowl ad.

If anyone likes my ideas tell me. I'm not a developer so I can't help make them but I am an idea man and I always enjoy a good brainstorm to develop new and creative ideas that add value.

Re: Why Aren’t There More Interviews With Female Entrepreneurs On Mixergy?!

There was an article in tech crunch not so long ago about 3 female entrepreneurs maybe you can talk to them.

Re: Events

these should have a button to list by place. This way we make a sort of initiation the way Gmail and facebook did.

Re: The “Sex And Cash Theory” And Other Ways To Follow Your Passion – with Hugh MacLeod

Hey Andrew, I'm sure you've heard lots of reasons why this video isn't the greatest so I'm just going to say I also didn't enjoy this one and didn't agree with Huge for the majority of the video.

Re: Who Do You Think I Should Interview For The First Mixergy Book?

Interview Matt Mullenweg!!

Re: How HOTorNOT Bootstrapped To Over $5 Million In Annual Profits – With James Hong

about 50 min in you talk about your problem with spamers and what not and your model. What about a model where you get 4 mutual matches a week for free and more then that you have to pay $6 that way you get money and you cut down on spammers by limiting the point of them spamming and almost redirecting them to your competition.

Re: Who Do You Think I Should Interview For The First Mixergy Book?

Interview Michael! Your in every interview so I know the ins and outs of ur public image. I want to hear about your brother Michel (sorry if that isn't his name?). Get someone (not yourself) to interview him and they should ask about the working relationship between the two of you. I want to see the man behind the scenes!

Re: Upcoming Live Interview: Specific Steps To Earning More From Google AdSense In A Down Market

O i think I meant bar add (the ones on the side of the page). E.g. your we worked with.

But I guess if your looking for something more broad you can basically just cover having more of an intense advertising campaign from only a few advertisers compared to having more advertisers with each being less intensified.

For example, if my site had a bar (vertical advertisement on the sides) on both sides and a banner ad at the top and at the bottom all from the same advertiser compared to splitting up those spaces with other advertisers.

Re: Upcoming Live Interview: Specific Steps To Earning More From Google AdSense In A Down Market

I have a few questions that are more on online advertising verses google ads.

I'd like to know if having the same banner ad at the same height on both sides of a page increases clicks or increases the users awareness and annoyance of the ads on your site.

How much is too much advertising (probably depends on the type of site, but still how can you know when you've gone over the line).
