I was able to work around the issue of not being able to index the blog post bodies (somewhat) by using createNodeField in onCreateNode of gatsby-node to add an extract field to the node with a limit of 500 chars. Then I added that field and a resolver for it in the options for the plugin in gatsby-config. This let me index the first paragraph or so of each blog post. That helped improve the search results a lot.

Additionally on the search page I added code to extract the tokens from the elasticlunr index and used those to a add typeahead helper for the search input. This provides a little assistance for searching.

Re: Gatsby: Paging Tags and Posts in Categories, Part 1

The templates are discussed in more detail in part 2: http://danhounshell.com/blo...

Re: WATCH GIVEAWAY: Laco Münster Automatic

Classic style, great size, historic brand. I once got stuck in Chicago because of storms when flying from Cincy to SF. Had to fly red eye to Newark and slept in the airport until an early flight to SF. Missed my morning meetings and had to buy a Yankees (which I hate) sweatshirt in the Newark airport because it was freezing.

Re: Auto Fabrica’s KZ400: A two-wheeled Extreme Makeover

I agree about the pictures being too dark. There is just not enough detail in them. I have a couple of KZ400s so anytime a custom pops up I always go through the pics pixel by pixel to check out the details, see how they with or around each element of the bike, figure out how they did things differently, and try to pick up tips. Unfortunately these pics won't allow for that and it is really too bad considering it is so minimalist. But that's enough complaining - keep those KZs coming!

Re: I'm not nearly the man I used to be

I'm proud of David and inspired as well. It looks better in the pics than it does up close. Since
it had to be white I didn't spend too much time on pretty details that
would get covered in paint and only did a little bit of sanding to make
sure there were no big splinters or sharp corners. No fancy joints
either - butt joints on the corners and I attached the shelves with
screws through the side of the 2x4s. Then I just recessed those a bit,
filled with spackle, sanded a bit and painted. Really easy, shouldn't be
more than a few hours of work, but I ended up having to stop several
times to make trips to the hardware store for things I was missing to
decided to add later. He won't mind too much :)

Re: Android: Using NTLM authentication with HttpClient : Digging My Blog

My example (taken from the example implementation that used to exist on the Samba site JCIFS) can be found here:

http://files.danhounshell.c...

Re: Android: Using NTLM authentication with HttpClient : Digging My Blog

That's fantastic. You are on Fire!

"Usually 'Enterprise-ready' software is a steaming pile of XML served up with crap-sauce, a shot of Best Practices, and a side of 4-year Old Framework. I accidentally clicked a link and when I clicked the back link to come back to this page I almost decided to shut it down and forget it. I don't know if it's yours or Tumblr's but there is a js script link for what looks to be a code highlighter from drnicwilliams.com that is really slowing down your page load times. It takes at least 20 seconds for a page to display for me, sometimes more than 30. It appears to be hanging up on that link.

Re: http://ryanahamilton.com/post/3146591697

Same here!
