Many torrent sites provide TV shows in RAR files and Sonarr can't do anything with those. But with SickRage you can have it post process the files.

Re: Ultimate Smart Home Media Server with Docker and Ubuntu 18.04 – Basic

Yeah, that is what I said, just in more words. :)

Re: Ultimate Smart Home Media Server with Docker and Ubuntu 18.04 – Basic

I looked at so many guides... so, so many.

At the end of the day setting up volumes is "similar" to setting up mounts and shares. I say it that way because it isn't exactly the same same but conceptually it is the same.

Using the bind command you are basically choosing the directory outside of your container (the normal directories of your system) and attaching them to targets within your container.

So if I have a mounted source on my system that is at /mnt/SERVER and I want my container app to have access to it I use the bind command within compose to set it up (you could also use run but I did everything within compose).

So something like this...
volumes:
- /mnt/SERVER:/downloads

There is a bit more to it than that but if you did that for each of the apps you setup all your downloads would end up in the same directory and they would all have access to the downloads.

Re: Ultimate Smart Home Media Server with Docker and Ubuntu 18.04 – Basic

I've basically been doing this stuff manually my whole life on multiple servers (Plex, SickRage, etc, etc) for the past X number of years. I kept telling myself I didn't want to use Docker. After reading through this I decided to give it a shot and move some apps from my 2 Raspberry Pis to a computer my work donated to me after they replaced my laptop. I have to say Docker really can make things run a bit smoother. I didn't follow your tutorial completely (as I used Portainer to do my compose work after it was installed) but you pointed me in the right direction. The only stumbling block I had was figuring out how to get the Docker containers and stacks to access my NAS folders as I save everything straight to my NAS instead of on the device doing all the hard work. I'm happy to report I figured that out after about 2 hours of researching and just testing some differfect understandings.

I would suggest to possibly add a sentence or two about setting up volumes that point to already set up network mounts. There really isn't much explanation out there on how to do it. Once you figure it out it is like a well duh of course it works like that but until you realize how it works it doesn't make sense.

Thanks again!

Re: Ultimate Smart Home Media Server with Docker and Ubuntu 18.04 – Basic

Doh, that didn't even cross my mind.
