Did anyone read the part where it states this is coming from a grant and not from the general fund. In most cases if this money isn't used, it's lost. So why not. And it's not a traffic camera that can be posted at an intersection.

I happen to work in an out of county hospital and I can tell you that we see quite a few people from San Benito County. They come in for simple procedures, surgery and for L&D. Most state that they wouldn't step foot in HHH. Many moons ago I worked for S&P and brought patients into the ER regularly. The MD's back then were very good. Not sure what happened. But we should remember; MDs are human and they do make mistakes which we all hear about, but you rarely hear about them when they do good. Just my 2 cents

I brought up this very same issue before they bought the Jeep. I even said why not buy one of those electric golf carts like the local security service uses. You wouldn't believe how many came back at defending buying a Jeep that has been parked somewhere for over six months. Why not have a patrol car do the job. They drive up and down these very same streets every hour and every day of the week. Might even help them by having to get out of the car every so often and not end up with butt sores.

OK, let's take a realistic look at this. You want me to spend my money locally? I'm hispanic. And when I want to go out to eat with my family, I don't want to eat mexican food. That is the majority of the restaurants in Hollister. We have Progressos, Villa de Jerez, Cristinas and then numerous taquerias. When I go out I go for Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Johnny Carino's (forgive my spelling) Dave's Bar-b-que. Or I'll drive to San Jose to Cheesecake Factory and such. Do we have anything that even comes close to this type of food. NO. Can you blame people for going out of town?

WoW, this is like deja vu for me. A few years ago I awoke to kids yelling outside my house. When I looked outside they were walking down from a party that had gone on down the street. It was obvious they were getting ready to fight. I called 911 and reported the incident. I was asked if I wanted the officer to contact me. So I'm thinking, oh yeah so they can know who called. So obviously I said No. They hung up. A few minutes later the group grows and they start going at it. I call again. This time the same dispatcher asked if I wanted to file a report. I said "no just send an officer". He then said "well if you won't file a complaint than we can't go out". I told him they're fighting, he is now yelling at me over the phone chastising me for not willing to file the complaint. I said I wouldn't do it an he hung up on me. Just as I hang up, I hear a cop on the PA "everyone down on the ground". I look outside and there are 4-5 cops with guns drawn. YOU tell me, do we have competent dispatchers? He didn't even know they were on their way. I felt angry and actually in danger. Just my 2 cents.

'I recently saw an add for employment that read "must be able to read and write Englist" you wouldn't get that job. I'm not sure you would get the job either since you can't spell "English", no T at the end.

Well "Guest" it appears that our enforcement officer only tickets those he wants to ticket. I say this because on Friday around 10:20 a.m. I was behind the 18K Jeep that we'll probably never recoup, and interestingly enough he was marking the tires of all the vehicles. But when he arrived at the last vehicle he bypassed it. I thought 'this is odd', but when I drove by the white pickup truck it has the Cozy Cup logo. So obviously some business owners/workers are getting a free break. Maybe he's getting a free break(fast) also. Just one of those things that make you go hmmmmm...

Hey Guest, I agree about the Chinese Buffet. When most people read "buffet" they think "all you can eat". Well, a few of my friends found out the hard way, it's a one time fill you plate to the brim and the drinks are extra. I think the name is somewhat misleading. And I agree with sturmabteilung. We need some kind of chain restaurant. What about a Red Robins? We consistantly drive with friends to Salinas, Gilroy or Morgan Hill to eat at a chain restaurant and drop $100+.

Hey if it has to be in a comercial zone, then why doesn't he rent the old Salvation Army store behind the gym and make it an indoor/outdoor flea market. This way it can run even on rainy days. I think it would make lots of $$$.....Hey wait a minute, I should run with this idea. Never mind Mr Rodriguez my idea won't work. Now where can I find the number for the landlord hmmmmm

I got it! How about a Bowling Alley... oops, they shut down because they couldn't stay in business. OOH how 'bout a Home Depot... wait, we ran them off to Gilroy. Ok, how 'bout this, a marijuana dispensary...nooo that won't pass council. Maybe a casino? No we scared them off as well. I know, a huge grocery store that sells mexican products like Baler Market (Hollister Super) but for a higher cost. Yeah! thats the ticket!

OK, I'm going to assume that most of you writing were probably asleep in bed at 2:15 a.m. and were not there to witness what happened. As far as the comments about "witnesses" stating this and that, I drive by that intersection 4-5 times a week around 1:00 a.m. on my way home from work and there is NEVER anyone around that corner at that time of the morning. So where did these witnesses come from? I say we wait and see what the investigation turns out.
