It creates the environment where the actual market does not have so much directional issues. I know what do you mean with SPX, it will likely give some for downside once finished but I also believe it fails to give as much as most of the EW theorist are expecting it would later.

There is few potential setups developing for instance with Altia and IBM where one impulse can become to be finished, which you can see from here as bearish side:

http://www.wavetimes.com/

But when we enter again for real CAPM world the same thing tends to happen as it usually does with EW, it exels mostly with very major cyclical peaks and lows only while fundamendal in the middle is the best.

Overall, it is very silly market we have - balancesheet recession but fundamendally pretty bottomed The EEM movement for downside looks zigzag for me too as well as for upside. Undirectional now without edge much.

Re: Breakaway gap in U.S. stocks — shorts are trapped due to CME rule | PeterLBrandt

I am Elliotist myself and have to confess I disagree with you unless you do not know with what exactly you are bearish because for me it seems some of the biggest names are just opening fifth wave impulse to come with weekly charts, take a look at Microsoft for instance.

What Peter have in his chart above is exactly the same as MSFT have which is ElliottWave tripletree which just finished.

http://just-charts.blogspot...

Regards,

Just one another Elliotist

Re: Holiday Gifts For Traders

Wake me up when it is 800, I see no reason to close good swing positions, perhaps ~spring 2012 and some painrelief will come.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1...

Re: Holiday Gifts For Traders

Gold was good short swing with EW with trading window 24x7 days.

EW C wave down generated.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-I...

It´s just global deflation theme waiting untill politicians makes something new and funny again
(Gas, Coffee, Cocoa, Cotton, Soyabeans, Wheat, Oil, Gold, Silver, Oats etc.) - all are pricing one thing to come.

Re: Bait & Switch Monday Wrap Up

Keeps landing from Hourly bearish butterly.

Re: Bait & Switch Monday Wrap Up

Well done dude, it´s 61.8% daily chart resistance is made from hard and rock.

Re: Bait & Switch Monday Wrap Up

Except gold short ;)

Re: Bait & Switch Monday Wrap Up

Here´s something for you to wonder with GG, have you noticed it´s relation & correlation has came to be allmost the same as DAX / SPX have ie. it tends to go down when market goes down and it goes up only when market goes up.

Who holds and own the world biggest gold resouches exist ? If you thought that´s FortKnox, FED or China - Wrong.

Portugal and Italy owns the most of the gold exist and everytime there is failure risk exist in Europe, market comes nervous that they might dump it to pay their gigantic debts off, there is risk exist someone will realize and will require their to sell it. Those fundamendals really matters on there at the end. I use for instance Intel as one proxy meter for it because it is relative easy equity to price.

Re: Inflection Point

It was possible also that we are travelling fifth wave down particulary once the previous high was hit for 50% , but in that case bullish divergence cannot build extremes and MACD roll-overs started to become pretty clear. If it would be only in index but because also equities had same in DAX. I haven´s see such a huge divergences for SPX for year as bullish.

Re: Inflection Point

Anyhow, succesfull december & x-mas for all with trading & investing in EvilSpectur,

Sounds for me like EW is a bit too hot issue in here for my taste. I am not seller for this year anymore anyway, so it might be that we trace and track a bit different kind of portoflio & timeframe approach.

Re: Inflection Point

I work with charts mainly over the weekends only to make any decisions for the upcoming week, so yes, I noticed it myself in the middle of the sunday where we had arrived and it was allmost late. On monday morning I wasn´t first buyer in Europe anymore when our markets did opened but it wasn´t very big surprize for me because on previous week we allready tried to reverse from 0.618 retracement with equities in our markets and bullish extreme divergences were still building.

As you know in EW Wave2 bottoms are located between 61.8-78.6 RET. So the final result was just little more cosmetic touch anymore for 0.707 for instance. So yes, I was first buyers with DAX and it´s equities on monday morning when Europe did opened and also alerted my friends on sunday evening what we have in here with several stocks.

In the failure case it propably would stop for 86.2% flat scenario anyway.

So yes, I propably locked in the most succesfull week of the this autumn.

But even with-out this possible W2 I was allready planning to buy some most low PS values companies out from there. We are pretty hammered in Europe as you might imagine after this year with several markets.

Re: Inflection Point

I think the most biggest trouble with it is that peoble are trying to force one instrument for "waves" to know it´s location all the time. Why bother ?

That´s not it´s purpose, with EW you deal with instruments and certain location only where and when risk is low but reward is high. This is how harmony theory works also. The confirmation issues are pretty simple with it.

Re: Inflection Point

"The trick is not to try and guess or force 5 wave counts"
That´s essential in these days, it is all about complex "X" and complex trees as another theory there called Harmony theory trades only 3 waves, there is not a such as 5 wave exist for it which is interesting since the theory is so close of ElliottWave.

Re: Inflection Point

It depends a bit, I am not great fan of open web or aware of EW sites exist there today but I think it differs a bit between trading approach and investment approach. There is real many who warned on last spring that charts starts to crack, at least in this part of world and many of them were EW theorist.

This open WEB is more than likely trying to trade it very fast way and it differs totally with larger degree views with it.

But certainly one can makes his life very complex if trying to trace all the whipsaws and small degrees with it. Personally I use only some parts of it also, like scanning cont. triangles from NYSE Database which gives me then either B, X or IV bottoms / tops.

Re: Inflection Point

Sorry Jones, I didn´t know we have argue ?

Re: Inflection Point

Some buy or die settings from DAX ;)

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-M...

Re: Inflection Point

Friday-Monday was time to go long in Europe for potential Wave2 bottom process.
