I believe this was an AI update to guess user-intent. We've had a number of keywords drop pertaining to cities. Now when performing a search for the keywords that dropped, the results now display:
Showing results for X
Search instead for X
If user actually clicks the "Search Instead for x" option then our original keyword rankings are displayed.

Specifically this now happening to names of small cities or towns where the city name may have multiple meanings in the English language. As with all things AI, this will probably be tweaked depending on users location but for now it's not.

I noted this change in my data as the "AI Update."

I was pretty confused by the rules and even had a contest shut down for running a contest on my "wall." But then I found a 3rd party app and worked extremely well called Contest Burner that worked with FB, Twitter and YouTube. Even my local clients can compete with the "big boys." I give my cousin Monica a lot of credit for speaking about this. She hasn't said a word about my Uncle's death (her father) since recently. She's been hiding it. Right now the SERPS show suggestions from people in your social circle now if you are signed into your Google account.
If you have a good social presence already and your sites are linked to your networks via feeds, you should be okay. You may even come up higher in the SERPS if you have your sites wired. The days of the static HTML pages are gone. It's time to get your FEED on!

Traditional media still has a traditional media mindset. The power is in social media and mobile. The Columbus Dispatch should pay the man who posted the video on YouTube. I would like to find out who this person is and interview them and thank them. 11 million views in 4 days? The Columbus Dispatch gets less than 2 million visitors in a year. Someone needs to get on the ball.

These print guys just don't understand the power of social media. Even Roger Ebert, a classic print journalist said on Twitter that the Dispatch dull-wittedly filed the copy right claim with YouTube. Ted will have a lifetime of fame but now the Dispatch will experience some shame and FAIL when it comes to social media.

The actual video was shot over 6 weeks ago.

Thanks for showing this to me via Twitter., Scot. I do believe that Twitter has become a vanity plate, but because the streams are sooo clogged..it's now quality instead of quantity. It seems the more I followed, the more the quality went down.

I hope that Motorola can do better than the Cliq. I bought the Cliq and I love it. But I hate it because it has all these features that you can't use because it has the worst battery life of any phone on the market now. The only thing I can do on this phone is talk before the battery dies. I didn't buy it to talk.

How will Twitter make money?
What people fail to see is that Twitter has a "real-time" search. How long does it take for Google to pick up on something after it is posted unless it is aggregated news it takes a long time.
The twitter search is amazing. I use it to find out what people are saying about certain movies or restaurants.
I can honestly see Twitter using their search to generate a massive amount of money in no time.
There are millions of Twitter users who don't even know that Twitter has a separate page for search.

Most teens I talk to think that Twitter is boring. But I have noticed that it's starting to pick up a bit. Most of the trending topics on the Twitter search are started from Teens. The past 7 days there have been trending topics on teen "heart throbs" like the Jonas Brothers and Solja Boy.
