Flagged comments are only removed if the editorial board votes and deems that they are in direct violation of our Posting Policy (there is a link to that at the top of each comments section). Violations include spam, a direct call to violence or accusing someone of a crime. In the very, very few cases where they are removed, there is a note left stating that they were taken down for violating the policy.

Re: Daily 49er - Letter to the Editor- Faculty and staff of LGBT Task Force respond to campus climate issues

Your comment was 1 of 3 removed, according to our monitoring program Disqus however all read that they have been "approved." We did not have access to the petition and student IDs when this was discussed at the last ASI meeting. And yes, signatures have to be verified by Dean of Students, but no one knew this hadn't been done at the time of the meeting, as it shouldn't have made it the agenda. We will continue to work on this. The story will most likely be released next week.

Re: Daily 49er - Chicana feminists must be heard

The comments by Cuauhtli citing La Voz de Aztlán have been removed because it was brought to our attention that the group has been cited as a hate group by both the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League.
