I was honored to visit Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday and to witness the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. It was a very solemn and moving event.

Driving home from Savannah last evening, the smoke was pretty thick from Woodbine (exit 14) down. I stopped in Kingsland at exit 1, and it was literally raining ash.

We actually had built the time to drive the trip ourselves into our vacation so taking the auto train works well. We will drive down on Saturday morning, check out Sanford (there is a free shuttle to the town that follows the train schedule), and check in by 3 and leave by 4 and when we wake, we will be there. The other benefit is that we are arriving in D.C. so even though it is Sunday, we will do some sightseeing there before heading to Williamsburg and again the next Sunday we can see some sights in D.C. before embarking on the train for the trip back to Florida.

We made these yesterday. I think they are very good (and I have been off sweets for 6 weeks or so). Steve thought they needed some vanilla in them. They are easy to make and fast too. After the concoction was frozen and we cut it into "bars", I put them in a ziploc in the refrigerator.

Being a Club14 Fitness member myself, I know a few of the contestants personally. I just want to say good luck to all! May you all be big "losers" in the competition and hopefully someone I know will receive the money as well. I will following this closely and hoping to reap some of the benefit from home play as well. I am really looking forward to the opening of The Club in Yulee and will be participating in the new classes there as well as Club14 Fitness.

It is time for the 25th Annual Hoggetowne Medieval Faire in Gainesville, FL at the Alachua County Fairgrounds. The dates for 2011 are January 29-30 and February 4-6. I wholeheartedly agree with you, Han. I have never liked the telephone. I detest picking up a call "blindly" for even if you have the number, you do not know what the other person wants. At home, it is not as bad, but at work I will not pick up the phone when it rings. I would much rather the person leave a message so I can prepare for a call back. Most of the time the call will not be able what I am working on that moment and I will need to either pull a file or look up my digital notes anyway.

Where do you find almond flour? does our local health food store carry items like that? The recipe looks interesting. I have been keeping note of my diet and realizing that I need to make some changes. I currently use spaghetti squash as the "pasta" in many dishes so i like the idea of the sweet potato ribbons a lot.
