Who cares whether illegal alien lawbreakers can defend themselves against being arrested? When American lawbreakers are arrested, they are separated from their families. Why should it be any different for illegal alien lawbreakers? By the way, there are no concentration camps in Maricopa County.

The huge hole in your analogy is that illegal alien is neither a race nor a culture. There are white, black, Hispanic, and Asian illegal aliens in the United States. And yes, there are even Jewish illegal aliens here! Also, illegal aliens are lawbreakers whereas the Jews persecuted by the Nazis during WWII were NOT lawbreakers. The ignorance in your comments is palpable.

If driving were a right, would we still need a license to drive? If we did, and I failed my driving test, wouldn't my right to drive be violated? We certainly don't need a freedom of speech license in order to voice our opinions. Or perhaps we wouldn't need a driver's license at all in order to drive. In that case, it would be utter chaos on the roads!

The other day I went to my bank to cash a check and I had to show my "papers" (my driver's license). Oh, the horror! I felt like I was in Nazi Germany! Last year, I took my family on vacation to Vancouver, Canada. Upon going through Canadian customs at the airport in Vancouver, I had to show my "papers" (my driver's license and my birth certificate). Oh, the horror! I felt like I was in Nazi Germany! /sarcasm

What if the issue of driver's license checkpoints were put up to a vote of the people? If a majority of the voters say yes to these checkpoints, then nobody's liberties will have been deprived by the government.

There is no way that Mexico will ever be better than the United States in any way. I wouldn't set foot in a backward country such as Mexico for any reason.
