I thought about this long and hard when I submitted my data to 23andMe about 4 years ago and I came to the conclusions that a.) This data is valuable b.) I can't fully trust 23andMe. I then thought about c.) All this can be done with a swab of my cheek or a stray hair I leave almost anywhere by someone nefarious. I felt (and still feel) the value of having it done outweighed a & b.

I look at the Bitcoin blockchain as an analogy to the United States. It was a big experiment in the world of ledgers (countries), and although it may have its ups and downs, it will continue to persist (if not just for sheer size and adoption). Other ledgers (countries) will learn from it and adjust according to its pitfalls and or areas where things don't seem as secure - or where their accountant (leader) feels that there shouldn't be as much leeway (power ceded).

An interesting analogy (experiment?) could be what happened in the East last night. For awhile there were four Hawks on the floor. The sum of all their parts made them a good move to get almost every man out there for a little while because they gelled so well during the season. I wonder what would happen if you had a fund all-star game. You take the best members of a small set of companies (maybe four *are* from the same company) and just say "hey, for this weekend I want you to tackle this problem from another company". Would be interesting to see what could be accomplished in a weekend especially if an underlying framework was already in play by a majority of them from another company.

Positively 10th Street is what brought me here ;) I think the "dual" hosting of podcasts now is interesting. Some of the ones I still follow have the base rss feed serving the files from some host and then they also usually host it on soundcloud also and embed on their page. Seems like soundcloud is in a good position for tooling support.

There are two reasons I use rdio 1.) I have a really solid list of currated people I follow, I am always greated on the front page with new albums *that I actually might enjoy* and also b.) I have taken so much time getting this list where I want it that it has increased the "stickyness" of the site to where I don't want to start that process all over with another music service.

I like the design a lot. Easier to get to the content faster. I remember when you had a widget overload about 6-7 years ago, I was one of the people holding a pitchfork then. I like this clean look.

I don't know their financials, but I have a hunch that they sell a lot of smaller accounts also. I (and most of the other coders I know) am perfectly fine paying them for the small/medium plans just as a backed-up repository for any small bits of code I write. Never trust a hard drive.

I admit I have been lurking since near the beginning. I used to love the family music podcasts and although I don't get around here and avc as much as I used to, I still find both have a special place in my rss reader (yeah old school).

They get a lot of slack by some for being as big as they are, however they have mastered their craft in my opinion. I don't feel like their albums grow more interesting upon multiple listens, however I can listen to Parachutes a thousand times and it never feels repetitive. The geek in me still likes X&Y the best, but I will never hesitate to purchase a new Coldplay album - its pretty much a given I will dig it. I only wish I could have seen them back when they were doing smaller venues.

yeah I am just going back through all the previous seasons (I swear they used to be on netflix, however not seeing them now - which sucks). Sounds like an interesting guy - I didn't know he was local till I kept seeing him pop up at local places on the show (harry's alpharetta, etc).

Yes, great version (re Swedish) thats the Pace I was referring to above (Noomi Rapace) I just had her name wrong - who did an amazing job as Lizbeth in the Swedish version. US Version was darker, and Daniel Craig was excellent in it. Worth a watch when it hits streaming.
