Other people found it, as the earliest comment on the column dating back six days ago attests. You missed it. Whose problem is that but yours? As for the paper hiding it, I looked and it appears to be an opinion, so what do you know, they posted it under, ta da, opinion! All of these things may severely try your brain cells, but not mine or the brain cells of anybody else who responded starting SIX DAYS ago.

Jeez, did you actually think before you wrote? A vote for Haugen who does not believe the city should be involved in economic development guarantees that it will remain that same stinking armpit you complain about. It is a vote for keeping things exactly as they are. As for the dragonflies I believe that was money that came from King County that especially earmarked for art, not city money available for anything else. I would suggest before you shoot your mouth off that you know what the hell YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! You don't have anything to contribute to the conversation when you are that misinformed.

There's "wild" as in "wild colt" and then there's Tasmanian devil wild spit flying limbs-a-twirl with a maniacal glare I think of Haugen as having the second sort of wild and just can't bring myself to seeing it sitting in the mayor's chair at the head of Auburns affairs.

Ironic wouldn't you say, you bristling about a Lewis supporter questioning Virginias ethics when everyone on this board has had to put up with the continual onslaught of Haugen supporter Shelley Erickson's crack-brained accusations questioning Lewis' ethics, up to her insinuation that he played a role in a man's suicide? Yes, I would say it's ironic. It also appears to kick the supports out from under your over the top indignation. To put it bluntly, given your supporters, you have no moral standing to bristle.

Once again, poor little Virginia, bad old mayor just reached in there, grabbed her tongue, forced that old tongue into a lying shape. Always an excuse, always an excuse. I have concluded, Shelley, after thinking about the subject and reading your posts, that you have a screw loose or maybe a whole head full of loose and rattling hardware. Fact is, Haugen lied, she Lied, she LIED, SHE LIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And nothing you can say or any excuse she can make can ever paper over that fact. Devious and sneaky? You mean like the deviousness and sneakiness that manipulated Haugen into lying to the cops about her involvement in the sign caper? That was so awfully unfair. Or the deviousness and sneakiness that made her shoot her mouth off a couple months ago outside the council chambers in front of a reporter? Terribly devious. Always somebody else's fault when Haugen does or says something really stupid, right? Fact is neither Haugen or her followers have ever acknowledged one iota of responsibility any of her very public and atrocious acts of goofiness, acts too many have witnessed to be dismissed. Not enough lipstick out there to cover this.

Once again this board has become the dumping ground for Ericksons verbal diarrhea. Same tired accusations and incoherent boring ramblings. Funny though, in all of it, not one damned word about what the article above actually reveals, that Virginia has admitted that she doesn't have the ability or interest to work...with...other....local....governments or participate in the meetings that link the city to the greater community and can become a tie to vital funding. This at a time when it is absolutely crucial that the city do so. She wants to gut the budget for people to go to these meetings that if Lewis is right have been worth tens of millions to the city. This is a recipe for disaster, isolation, an invitation for putting the city's head up its collective butt. Seriously, that's what the article says, and nobody is saying anything about that. Pay attention people, get a frigging clue!

Not my job to prove E's accusations wrong, her job to develop mere accusations into a case, and at that she fails miserably. Doesn't work that way. In a court of law we don't say, "Let's assume Smith is a murderer, you prove otherwise." Flinging mere accusations does not amount to a prima facie case against our fictional Smith or our flesh and blood mayor. Once again, Erickson has never answered the question I have asked her several times: if there is a second set of books how does the state auditor keep missing it? Those are hard-nosed, no nonsense people, experts at their job and every year they somehow keep missing this second set of books? ......Still waiting for answer. Come on, Erickson is wrong on that one, and she's wrong elsewhere. Thing is that Shelley is a willing receptacle for anything, any rumor, any innuendo, any whisper campaign that puts the mayor in a bad light, because she's bitter and vindictive.

Crap, once again, this is turning into the Shelley Erickson response board. That's too damned bad. I have looked at her many postings and reached this conclusion ... she is nuts, whacko, bat crap crazy on the subject of Pete Lewis. The distorting lenses she wears tell her there is a web of criminal activity and Lewis, a fat bloated spider is in the the middle of it all spinning plot after vile plot. It is amazing how the state auditors, much more skilled than Shelley Erickson at spotting irregularities in bookkeeping I will bet, have never picked up on any of these shenanigans, not even a whiff of a shenanigan, a milleshenanigan. Why, Shelley, haven't the state auditors detected that second set of books about which you foam at the mouth? Answer please. Personally, I think it's because you're full of crap.

It's clear that Virginia Haugen is using Shelley Erickson here to do her ugly work, say her ugly things, while she keeps a low profile. Very cowardly and devious of Haugen. As the editor Klass asked in his blog Auburn Skies Who's running for mayor anyway? The primary result say Haugen, but Erickson is the one doing all the talking and insulting. Imagine this hateful Erickson close to the seat of power. A sobering, sober thought. Looks like Erickson's calling herself Business owner now.

I read the editors blog Blue Skies on this site and he nailed it. Who is running for mayor, Virginia Haugen or Shelley Erickson? From all of Shelleys comments on here and around town it seems to be her. Is that a deliberate campaign strategy, keep Haugen out of sight and let Shelley do the punching? Are they ashamed of Virginia? Are they afraid she'll open her trap and say something ridiculous? But here's the question that makes me really run for the Maalox: what role at city hall would Shelley have if Virginia wins the election?

What exactly is the writer making fun of here? Looks pretty straightforward to me. I don't see anybody's misery being made fun of. I've been reading these for a while and it seems to me the writer is making the best of the few scraps the police give him or her. Again, whose mishaps are being made fun of? The hilarious one that said "somebody stole a utility trailer from a construction site?" Oh, yeah, there's a hardy har har har. Or maybe it was the one that said "unknown suspects stole a chainsaw of undisclosed value from the back of a pickup truck." Yee hee! a laugh riot! That writer is a real knee slapper! Ohh, you better not be claiming you never said you wanted to stop development projects under way downtown. A roomful of Rotarians heard you say it. They also heard Haugen say she wanted to go back 40 years and possibly hold council meetings in a pool hall that would be a clear violation of the Open Meetings Act.
