Here's my take, for what it's worth:
I thought that the undercover was hoping for one of two outcomes. Either he escapes and continues undercover, or he gets arrested, and shuffled around in the system by the FBI, without blowing cover.
Dangling from a rooftop changes things, especially when the man you're working with has just shot another police officer. He doesn't know Liv's character, who may just let him fall to his death for being part of Stabler's attempted murder.

I agree, last night's episode was somewhat weak, and I thought they could have done so much more with Stabler getting shot rather than just use it as a cheap tool of suspense. As far as Mariska being a victim though... if she leaves the show, I may stop watching...

I was thinking, perhaps there needs to be more than two hitters? After all, in normal tennis there are two hitters and quite often they can't reach the ball in time, so I imagine it would occur with much more frequency in huge tennis. Just a thought.

Just to add to the creepy factor - Have you noticed how many people had absolutely no relationship with their killer? Not a girlfriend, neighbor or prostitute, just the shittiest luck ever... I haven't seen "The Strangers" yet, and I don't plan on it now...
