I salute the initiative of Seth Godin and Amazon. I'm also developing a project that aims to rethink the way we publish and interact with books.

I call it a narrative based on social networks. The project @Krapotkinware starts this month on a platform built on Twitter, Facebook and MediaWiki, among other tools. The project central is located http://www.krapotkinware.co....

The narrative absorbs concepts of transmedia and accepts collaboration from readers and other authors. Snapshots extracted from this "database of narratives", from time to time, will be published as printed books, but using print on demand.

I'm working on a novel that implements my proposal of integrating twitter and ebooks. Specifically, I adopt an approach that the novel can (and should be read) on any platform, and should be adaptable to that platform. This project is an evolution of the @SD8 novel, that I published on Twitter, from April 2009 (it's considered the first Brazilian novel published in social networks). Talvez, Sérgio, o mais importante de se considerar é que a notícia, o romance, a música, em nossa sociedade da informação, devem funcionar como software. O livro, o jornal, o álbum devem ser processados, como software. Os "usuários" (leitores, ouvintes) querem interagir com eles de uma forma mais profunda. Não aceitam mais receber um pacote fechado. Hoje as mídias devem conversar entre si. Espero para ver o que a Apple está inventando com as gravadoras (tem um artigo aqui no Pontolit sobre isso) no intuito de revitalizar o conceito de álbum. Mas é quase certo que interagiremos com as mídias (músicas, vídeos, etc) através de aplicações.

Sérgio, acrescento ao seu comentário (com o qual concordo plenamente) o artigo do Kevin Kelly (ex-Wired) que o Rodrigo Velloso (Google Brasil) traduziu e publicou aqui no Pontolit há alguns meses. Em "Melhor que grátis" ( http://pontolit.com.br/blog... ), após a constatação de que a internet é uma "máquina copiadora", o autor afirma "quando cópias são gratuitas, é preciso vender coisas que não podem ser copiadas". Então, são apresentados 8 generativos, 8 categorias de coisas que possuem valor intangível e que compramos quando pagamos por algo que também poderia ser obtido gratuitamente.

Nossa opinião (salvo alguma informação mais detalhada) é a de que o autor não seja Euclides da Cunha. Entretanto, incomoda o mistério: quem seria E. da Cunha? Ainda mais quando diversos sites que vendem o livro indicam Euclides como seu autor.

Hi Paulo. How do you do?

My comments:

1) P-books won't change. They are information (memory) devices, based on paper, representing the benefits and constraints of it's technology stage.

2) E-books (at this moment) doesn't represent any paradigm shift, because it is copying the old model, it's only a digital p-book version.

3) Something completely new, for sure, should come in the future. I believe, we shouldn't copy the "old way", or as Ted Nelson says: the old "page model"...

4) Reading on-line is a completely different (and better) experience, but we are still inventing it.
