A little planning in the beginning saves you in the end.

"Sometimes you need to redo the end condition on those holes as “up to next” so that your hole callout doesn’t say a depth of 6.375″ when the part is only 2″ thick."
This one bugs me too.

Re: The CSWP Debate

The way I look at it is, it doesn't hurt you to have it so why not get it.

Re: Rock Your Model. Then again, if my legs are severed for replacement robot legs I guess it wouldn't really matter.

Re: SharePoint

Do any of you have further experience now with Sharepoint and SolidWorks?

Re: PDMWorks for the solo user?

Hard drive space. Our servers are reliable and backed up every night, so I had no issues with implementing PDMWorks.
It's nice to have an easily accessible place to go to, not to mention the basic revision control, reporting and where used functionality.
We currently now have a SolidWorks user (myself) and 2 Acad Electrical users accessing the vault.

For the my side design business, I don't use PDMWorks. This is mainly because I'm working off a laptop. If I upgrade to a workstation I may implement it. Still undecided on that, I won't worry too much about it until the time comes.

The important part, in my opinion, is to get a file and folder naming scheme in place and adhere to it. This will make converting to a PDM system so much easier.

Re: 3 Ways To Model The Same Thing

Same here, but I really wish there was a way to edit the offset without going into the feature.

Re: The Cheapest Route to SolidWorks World 2010 Is Not on A Pack Mule

Hoping I get approved to go through work. It was quite decent at the time but only came with 2GB ram. Shortly after I upgraded it to 4GB, downgraded to XP, got rid of most of the Lenovo preloaded software and it ran SolidWorks quite decently.
It seems to get pretty hot and at one point I sent it in and they replaced a fan. Still was getting hot afterwards but a cooling pad fixed that.

In hind site I should have bought a desktop as I don't really move it around nearly as much as I thought I would have.

My next purchase will probably be a Mac.

Re: Ask the Reader: eDrawings App for iPhone. Even if something was released for the Storm I probably wouldn't use it but it's just my situation. I find it's a really handy button and use it quite often, especially with sketching.

I still think the SpaceBall was the best laid out device so far, followed by the SpaceExplorer.
