1. It doesn't sound as if this young lady (or old lady) is a best friend so the "he had friends before you" rule doesn't apply. Going to the movies is a date situation. The last time my male best friends and I went to see a movie together was when we were in college. o_0
2. He asked you straight up if you felt like it was okay. Had it been me...I would have said that had this been his best friend or a good girlfriend from college or something...cool...let's all go. I'd love to meet her. If it's just random chick who might have a fleeting thing for him then naw bruh...I ain't cool with that. AT.ALL. Period, end of discussion. No share-sies. NONE.
3. Wouldn't be no next movie with her. Tell her to take her own man...and you take yours.
4. Again...if this was his best friend or one of his GOOD girlfriends from college...different story.

1. Who the hell is we? Seriously? Why the hell are you always so combative with Chele? Do you know her or something? It's like...you come over here for the sole reason of disagreeing with anything she says. 2. ANYBODY...man or woman, Black, White, purple, plain, etc. who grew up in less than ideal economic settings should simply be respected for beating the odds. That superior and pompous ish breeds entitled feeling azzholes. We have enough of them. We're good on that.

Every.single.Black.man I know and love is admired and respected by all they come in contact with. PERIOD. Why? Because they are from good stock and carry themselves the way a confident God-fearing man should.

This point exactly. I get tired of everyone focusing on telling women how to "ack." Somebody needs to start checking men too. I remember being around a group of men I love and respect who were advising a 26 year old man to wait until he was in his 30s before he even THOUGHT about getting married. I pointed out to them that each of them did the same and each of their wives had fertility issues and some still do. Reminded them how reckless that type of advice could be. I wish I could say I refrained from calling them idiots because that was not the case.

I'm with quinne. I had a list of all the things I desired in a life partner and I put it out there. Seriously...I prayed to GOD that I find him and he finds me. Well...I got everything I was praying for...just in a different um...erra..."package." LOL! See...I'm Southern and well...we don't really get down with dating outside of our skin color so, prior to meeting my now husband, I'd never even THOUGHT about it. Well...meeting my husband proved to me that God has a sense of humor because He sent me every.single.thing I asked for in a man in my husband. I just didn't specify that he be Black cuz yeah...I thought the Big Guy knew that.

That said...I believe I was realistic in what I was asking for. A lot of people are out there with requirements are asking for the sun the moon the stars and beyond when they are in fact...a flowering shrub which hasn't flowered yet. See...that shrub needs fertilizing and time to grow. GROW! Stop sitting back discounting your options and NOT growing. GROW! In all areas...GROW! Nothing wrong with working on yourself to attract someone who is well aware of THEIR worth as a person and refuse to settle for less than exactly what they want. For instance. I know people who are overweight but refuse to date someone who may be overweight as well. Or people with kids who refuse to date someone with kids. So...they never meet anyone up to their "standards" not recognizing that it could be as simple as they don't fit within the standards of the type of people they're looking for. Seriously.

STAY IN YOUR LANE...OR UPGRADE YOUR VEHICLE.

My husband and I had issues about his weight at one time. It wasn't pretty. Thank goodness it eventually clicked for him because that particular fight was wearing me thin.

We live in a world which is so PC that everyone thinks everybody needs to be okay with everything or it's THEIR problem. I got to know a guy who was far too big for me to ever be physically attracted to. It hurt his feelings when I told him the truth. He called me shallow. I told him if thinking that way helps him deal with whatever he was feeling...cool. But he was still too big and not attractive to me AT.ALL.

Would I do it again? Yes. I honestly feel like he already knew...he was just hoping I'd try given all of his other awesome qualities. From what I understand, he lost a lot of weight and looks awesome now. I hope he's happy. TRULY.
