Is anyone that is already on Rogers going to use this opportunity to force Rogers to improve their iphone plan and get you an even better deal than Bell so you can get a discount on the actual phone (since many of my friends have received this "special discount" for their customer loyalty).

Is it just me, or did Microsoft's natal beat Sony's new motion controller in every aspect. Natal is basically what Sony is trying to do without the two sticks, but Sony limits you to the arm movements.

You can't complain about unrelated ads if you're referring to the home page. Whereas in category specific locations, unrelated ads shouldn't be there in the first place.

So basically, you're paying Digg now for a front-page slot rather than a power user. I doubt they'd just slot random announcements in, it wouldn't be effective advertisement anyway.

Depends on how many ads we'll be seeing. I don't think Adblock can block these either

They're purposely doing that because by selling a PC, they're pretty much selling Windows. And they remind users PCs are powered by Windows by mentioning Windows without walls at the end.

I think they don't pick spectacular looking actors on purpose as well since not everyone is spectacular looking

@sanjay, Hi sanjay. They've changed the way you install MSN, you have to download a Live Pack now in order to install it - yes I hate it just as much as you do =(

I'm not sure why your Windows Update is not working. Maybe their servers were loaded, try a different time?

There isn't much difference on performance for me too other than booting and windows being more responsive.

@mr_krol, you can test the OS through Virtual PC too, except it would run under Aero Basic and you would not get full performance and functionality

@Chris Lonergan, I'm interested as to what kind of a system you were trying to build. Can you give me some specs? This is the current build right now. I believe I saved around $100 by custom building and it was very difficult to find a company that had the exact same parts, and if they did, were really expensive.

I thought I was the only one but I spent about 3 days reinstalling and benchmarking and I actually got worse results on Windows 7 for many tests. There's also an exclamation mark beside Win7-PC (win7 is my user name) under Devices and Printers so I thought I might have an incompatible chipset driver or something like that that's affecting my benchmark results.

Win7 Beta is still in beta so I find that article pretty unnecessary. A few people were saying how betas usually are loaded with extra tools and code to help make debugging quicker which will affect performance. Besides, Microsoft or Wired (Can't remember) made it clear that information is constantly being sent back to Microsoft servers so they can learn how users use the OS and improve it. I'm sure that has a lot of impact on performance as well.

@mr_krol, you must have some driver problem or missing driver. At worst windows 7 will be the same speed as Vista.

@CEE202, if the installation works fine on your PC but fails when you burn it onto the DVD, then the fault must be when the DVD is burned. After you burn the DVD, open it, do you see the ISO file or the contents of the ISO? Sometimes people make the mistake of burning the ISO directly onto the DVD.
You can also try burning at a slower speed, preferably the slowest speed possible. I don't know why but when I burn DVDs and they skip, using a slow speed will increase the chances of producing a DVD with no problems.
