If morning had a sound, this would be it. Look for the song on the Drouyn soundtrack.

Re: O Canada / If: Transitional Songs

I saw the Spinney Brothers at an IBMA conference several years ago. I'm not one for bluegrass records, but their performance clicked with me. This was "community" music to be played by family, friends, and neighbors. No star power needed; just some good songs and good intentions.

Re: Separate Towns, Separate Hearts

I'm diggin' this jam. Even that album cover looks to come with factory-fresh ring wear. Thanks for sharing.

Re: We Are Family: The Roches

Here's the fragile "West Virginia," song from the Maggie and Terre Roche album:

http://corduroymountain.blo...

Re: The Chronicles of DOOM: Kiss, “The Elder Demos”

What a cool find. A memoir, history, and love note all rolled into one beautiful performance.

Re: WTF, Aerosmith? WTF?

My first concert was Aerosmith at the World Music Theater, summer of 1993 with Megadeth opening. Looking at an online seating chart, my friends and I sat in Section 101. At some point during Aerosmith's set, Joe Perry sprinted down a ramp and up the aisle near our seats. And he just blazed a guitar solo a few feet from where we stood. What an introduction to the world of live rock 'n' roll! And I remember Steven Tyler dancing too close to the edge of the stage and slipping off. But rather than suffering a tour-ending injury, a security guard caught his fall and pushed Tyler back on stage where he just kept right on singing. That's a pro.

Did I enjoy Aerosmith 2.0? You bet. But having heard some '70s-era Aerosmith bootlegs, I must proclaim that to have been one ferocious beast. One I'm sad to say will never breathe again.

Re:

I never gave much time to Canned Heat. That may need to change.
