I mean how many times can you hear a retake of Life is a Highway, right? Also in movies there is a remake of Clash of the Titams coming out this year.

Then there is Avatar-wow, what a movie! I don't necessarily think that culture has slowed down as it has taken a different route. Even 10 years ago we didn't have texting, Facebook, Twitter or Ravelry and most of these terms have become part of the vernacular being used in tv shows, etc.

So I don't think that it has slowed as much, just changed.

Re: Book Signing & Newspaper Yarn at the Texas Book Festival

Wow, newspaper yarn! Who woulda thunk it? I really need to find this book. Not having much luck here in Canada and with out a credit card, not much luck in the internet, either.

Re: Kim Werker

love that picture!

Re: Giveaway Thursday--PGC Accessories Preview!

You are most welcome. I love your designs and I think it is important ot let you know. I know how hard it is to design something that others would love to make.

Cora

Re: Giveaway Thursday--PGC Accessories Preview!

First of all I first learned to crochet after knitting for 5 years. My daughter fell in love with a really cute knitted doll that had some really cute accessories. The edgings for the dresses and the blankets were crochet, which I had never done. She said the dresses and blankets had to be done exactly like the books design. Since I was knitting this as a Christmas gift, I contacted a friend of mine who knew how to crochet.

She taught me the basics, using a teddy bear pattern from Paton's yarn. It was the ugliest looking bear, however my son wouldn't let him go. I did make him another bear which he still has on his bed, he is now 19 years old.

I bought the book about a week ago, and I can't seem to put it down. There are just to many designs in there that I want to do. I want to crochet "Bettie" bag for sure, although I will have to leave out the mohair as I am very allergic to mohair. I also want to crochet the "Sean" hat that Drew designed, for my husband. To bad you didn't know him, as he reminds me of Sean Connery...lol. He is in the picture on my Facebook avatar.

Cora Shaw
