Steve- what a great post! It really is amazing what the digital natives come knowing and being able to do. As educators, we are "immigrants" in the world they have been born and raised in. As you said, it is not technology, it is their life. Educators that embrace students lives and honor their expertise, like the ones you kindly pointed too, not only engage students but become smarter themselves! thanks again for blurring the lines between the classroom and the boardroom!

Deb-what a an incredible three days! It was truly the essence of a learning community in action. To be gathered (in the summer) and see teachers put forth the passion and effort they did, is a testament to the leadership that stands behind and beside them. I could not have done it without you all!

What I wish we could have captured was the audience reaction and conversation to this presentation. It was the perfect way to introduce what Howard Gardner of Harvard Graduate School of Education, once said was the purpose of eduction: To enhance understanding.

A topic we rarely discuss with depth and clarity with our colleagues or students. So, what does understanding mean to your readers?

John-thank you for the wonderful feedback on the blog. It's like someone telling your your baby is beautiful! You beam with pride. Blogging as become something I am passionately committed to. I could have never imagined the conversations that have come as a result.

You should definitely give Typepad a try. It allow for greater flexibility and creativity. You are doing a wonderful job, but I think you will love the extra design and control features of Typepad! Keep up the wonderful work!
