I've pulled up a chair. Ready to read, laugh, cry, think, commiserate or rejoice. Or all of the above and probably more. Whatever you write will probably resonate with me, especially if it involves Superheroes and their Mom-Sidekicks, or impossible dog rescue stories, or insights into creativity and its relation to our brains, which are some days crazier than others. Delighted to be here!

Re: Special Cision Discount is Here!

Congrats to both Solo PR PRO and Cision on this arrangement. These attendees were not "out of status." They are not "new Americans" or "undocumented workers." They are illegal aliens, and their presence alongside our elected officials was a slap in the face to the wonderful immigrants who have gone to great pains and waited a long time to legally reside in this country. I find those who brought them into the People's House reprehensible.

Re: God Continues To Be Censored, And Liberals Continue To Be Douche Canoes. - Chicks on the Right

Well said, Daisy! And I'm praying it's that #1 minimal damage to your lungs scenario. We gave up down pillows decades ago because of allergies, even though none of us had been tested specifically for a down allergy. Our family doc recommended it. Sure enough our allergy ailments improved.

I can't imagine how you have kept up your schedule, and traveled, and presented ... how difficult that must have been. And, knowing you, how difficult it must have been to finally say "uncle" and start the sometimes daunting process of finding a diagnosis.

Thanks for writing about your travails--it could help someone get the treatment they need. Oh, and I've noticed that hotels I've stayed in recently usually offer both down and synthetic pillows in their rooms. So you may not have to carry your own pillow, just get them to remove the down ones.

Looking forward to hear the latest test results, Ms. Guinea Pig.

Re: USA - The Land Of Opportunity - Chicks on the Right

Awesomesauce! I doubt I will ever circle more than a handful of biz pages, so the biz clutter will not appear in my stream. The problem arises when people feel the need to add back everyone who adds them. G+ is at least more manageable than Twitter (at least until 3rd-party apps forced Twitter to create Lists). You can click any circle to only view the posts from that group of people. Only following 600 people, I can still pretty much read my Stream, which is akin to my "home" page for Twitter (and too much of a firehose.)

The real question IMO is how many social networks will people actually use? I'm pretty much down to Facebook and G+ -- and you know what a huge Twitter fan I have been.

Re: Google Plus Beyond The Hype – Take the Survey!

I'm using Google+ a lot like I used Twitter in 2007-08. I have purposely kept my circles limited (following a total of 600 people across circles). And I have purposely not followed all the "usual suspects" in social media. Instead I've focused on connecting with new people--artists, writers, photographers, and social media peeps I haven't met elsewhere.

I find myself using Twitter less and less, simply because the noise filters are not as good IMO -- or I just need to be ruthless in unfollowing people. I may not post on G+ every day but I'm always commenting on something and having some decent conversations.

Re: Which of These Two Cover Finalists Do You Prefer?

I still prefer the GPS one. I still like it best when looking at the larger images. There is not enough contrast between the text/background on the tree and sailboat covers (and I would not have recognized that as a sailboat). The 4th one looks too technical. BTW, the GPS cover appealed to me and I'm not the younger generation; I'd be in the women 55-64 category. Perhaps it's the aging eye, but on the GPS cover the title "pops." That's what would cause me to pick it up and browse in a bookstore. And here, I speak with decades of experience. :)

Re: 7 Reasons I’m Moving to Bloomington Indiana

Wishing you the very best with this move. I always learn something when participating in chats. It's also a great way to make new connections on Twitter. I try to favorite tweets of people I want to follow after a chat; but often the chat moves so fast that I can't keep up with that. So, alternately, while I have Tweetchat still open following a chat, I'll skim back through the tweets and follow some of the participants I interacted with.

Re: Skinny Does NOT Equal Pretty

Well said.
