Sad all this money raised for a covered horse arena. Think of all the items the school district could get with these funds.

The problem starts at home with parental actions. If a parent is drunk all the time or smokes marijuana, how can you be surprised that the kids do. The police, court system and employers are to blame as well. How many repeat adult drunk drivers/drug users keep getting off or very light sentences? Employers shouldn't actually look at the background and criminal checks they do. How many dui offenders are driving company vehicles? How many criminals are working directly or indirectly with our children? Adults, especially parents need to grow up. They need to stop acting like teenagers and lead by example.

Looking forward to a new superintendent, hopefully this will lead to a better school system complete with teachers with higher moral standards. Time to dump the bad apples and give raises to those who are true role models in education and life.

Why is a new building needed? With Napa closed and all the openings in that plaza, why not do a little renovation & move the library there. Plenty of parking & no more of this beautiful island will need to be paved for more parking spaces. We should be actively looking to fill the open business spaces we have now instead of adding more.

Perhaps it is time we bring back a vote about the high amount of tax dollars going to the park district. Shift dollars from park to schools and back when bond is paid off. That way struggling taxpayers aren't hit for more. Or have the park district take over all costs of maintaining athletic fields/buildings with the funds they already get from us. They already have their hands in the school fields so just hand it over. What's more important recreation or education?
