I see where you're coming from. Your point is very valid and I completely respect it. It's true... the scene is dying down. But Honestly, I'm not sure I would pin it COMPLETELY on technology and the social network age. I think our culture has morphed into "anything is ok." I wish we could go back to the 90s or something when it was a "rebellious" thing to like rock and punk and whatever. It made it more exciting. When someone tells you not to like something, you like it. But we live in an age where tolerance is assumed (which isn't a bad thing...) and the local scene has lost it's sparkle. Eh.

But honestly, I'm going to appreciate any and every musician in Seattle whether or not they suck. I don't have to like everything they produce. I don't have to think they're hot or buy their music... but I will appreciate them and show some respect. There are plenty of bands in Seattle that are over auto-tuned, overly arrogant, and down right douche bags. They are musicians, nonetheless, and I give them props for sticking their neck out and being a musician.

There are a few Seattle bands that know I don't like their sound. It's why I couldn't review their albums... I knew I wouldn't be able to say anything nice about their sound. With that said, I would never bash anyone's heart or passion for music. That's something only they and God know. It's something that you can't jar up or buy at Guitar Center. Passion and drive comes from within and I firmly believe EVERY Seattle musician in whatever genre HAS a place and worth in the scene. They have a voice that needs to be heard.

If the 60s and 70s didn't exist, this club wouldn't be more than an authors dreamed up perfection. It's sad how the spirit of these musicians have lived on FURTHER than they did when they were alive...

Kelly, I loved your post on tumblr with Amy Winehouse' photo with a bar across her eyes saying, "No one cared until she died" or something like that. That photo still resonates inside me.

Kelly, I could NEVER FEEL empathy for him. Maybe for Lindsay Lohan, but Jonny is a prick. He's lived his life out in the open and did so without feeling like he would ever get caught.
