As I've gotten older and done more research, it seems to me that Catholicism turned the LGBTQ community into the new antisemitism. I think this was especially true for Benedict, who as a German absolutely knew that the Church could no longer traffic in antisemitism to keep the 'little people' occupied with an anti Catholic enemy.

Nice to see this blog back up and running Bill. I never could get into twitter and after the Great Elon took it over, had even less desire.

Perhaps you should do a comparison of Trump's speeches from ten years ago with the word salad that comes out of his mouth now. His vocabulary has deteriorated noticeably, but then, back 10 years ago he wasn't trying to communicate with his current base of voters. Maybe that's the difference.

The first and by far biggest outbreak was in Gallatin County and it came from an international ski resort called Big Sky. Unfortunately, before we had any kind of testing in Montana, the biggest city in Gallatin county was holding a small school state basketball tournament.
Once our Governor got the original test results back from hospitals in Gallatin County he put a state lockdown order in place. That was the second day of the tournament, March 21. That instantly ended the basketball tournament and all high school sports in the State. Unfortunately folks who worked at an assisted living community were in Bozeman for that tournament and brought it back to infect the facility. 8 or our 16 deaths were associated with that facility. Two more came from the same Native American family in a different area. This virus is brutal on the least of the least.

Our governor, Steve Bullock, has been awesome in this crisis and prevented the deaths of a lot small city and reservation folks. I could go on, but I will finish with this, our two biggest outbreaks have come from rich people doing what rich people do, and with no consideration at all about how their fun might effect those whose lives they come in contact with who are their only to serve their fun for a very small pay check.

Our latest mini outbreak in Montana came from Charles Schwabb's super exclusive private golf course. 8 members of the staff tested positve and one is now hospitalized. You couldn't get a more isolated community, but as we all know, the virus knows no boundaries.

I have been mourning with my Navajo friends for over a month, and yet the virus keeps taking it's ungodly toll. I suppose this outbreak, which is by far the worst outbreak in the US, is ignored because it involves Native Americans and not white Evangelicals. The one other thing this virus has done, for me anyway, is ripped off the band aid that covered the collateral damage being done to America's people of color by white Christian entitlement.

It's all about the donation stream. If people aren't actually in the pews being brow beaten, they aren't motivated to donate. This was confirmed for me by Pence during Saturday's news conference. He made it a point to remind believers their pastors still need their donations especially when services have had to go on line.

I will probably start working from home sometime next week. Friday I temporarily laid off three staff members. One to take care of her son, one because his immune system was already compromised from influenza A and pneumonia in this past month, and one who is 70 and has one kidney. Nobody wanted to leave even though they knew Governor Bullock had guaranteed their unemployment insurance. This means they don't have to use their banked PTO or FMLA and can afford to stay at home. Normally I hate when we have to lay off staff, but this time I was forceful about it. Can't say I've ever been in a situation where laying off someone was truly for their good and not the company's.

Somebody needs to write 'A Theology of the Brain'. Then we might all get a handle on the fact it's the brain that determines sexual identity, not the body. God deals with human consciousness, not human reproductive genitalia.

I gave up writing my blog when I saw Francis would lead us nowhere but in one great big circle. There would be some nice scenery along the way, but in the end we would wind up at the exact same place.

As long as men control the totality of authority in the Church and in virtually all aspects of expression, the Church is a massive drag on human advancement towards Christ. The first incarnation of Jesus came directly from the body of a woman. Her body created His body. Why it is impossible for a woman to recreate this mystery is truly a mystery to me....OK not really.

I hold the Democrats in the Senate responsible for part of that ignorance. They should have been raising this issue repeatedly, especially in defense of the attacks against the House as 'do nothing dems' who only care about impeachment.

The truth is Evangelicals should be bowing to Moscow Mitch. It's Mitch who saved them a Supreme Court seat and has the Senate doing nothing other than pushing through incompetent conservative judges. Trump has had zero to do with this since he turned his responsibility for selecting judges over to the Federalist Society. I would appreciate CT going after Moscow Mitch and his blatant misuse of the power of the Senate Majority Leader, but I will never ever see that happen.

Today's youth have to find a different path to Jesus. I tell them that the institutional churches are now vested in promulgating white Christian culture, not the word of Jesus. The two are hardly compatible as Jesus found out at the hands of the Roman Empire. I think the implosion of our institutional churches mirror the implosion of the GOP and democracies all over the Eurocentric world. In one way or another they are trying to preserve the dominance of white European culture through the use of patriarchal authoritarianism. Unfortunately for Frances, no matter that he is pope, he is still just one voice crying in a wilderness in which the big predator is Vladimir Putin. As Pelosi says about Trump, all roads lead to Putin.

I'm baaacckkk. In case I was missed, I was flooded out of my apartment at the end of July and just got back into it this weekend. I was more or less living as urban homeless in a small camp trailer for the last four months. Needless to say, I did not have access to my PC. I did manage to screw up every password I had to every program I use when I got an updated smart phone. This resulted in my being reduced to playing toon blast and reading articles but being unable to comment. That so totally sucked, I stopped reading articles. I did keep playing toon blast. Anyway, I got my PC up and running last night and was able to retrieve most of my passwords, so here I am once again.

David Nunez was just insufferable during the impeachment hearings, but slightly less insufferable than Gym Jordan. Hope you all had a great thanksgiving. I was very thankful I have my PC back.

Trump will pull the trigger on a war with Iran if he thinks he needs to in order to win in 2020. So far his racism has played well with his base, but war will come if he needs it.

This kind of treatment is becoming more and more prevalent. HR divisions used to be about enhancing employee abilities, dealing with benefits, and explaining company protocol. Now they are more like gestapo, firing people at will. I've been on the other end where I was asked to terminate people in a similar fashion. I refused to do it and handed in my own two week notice. It definitely got noticed because I had serious leverage. I was allowed t handle my staff the way I wanted to and no one got fired....yet. The younger management types seem to be operating from a 'type' kind of mindset. By this I mean they come in with an imaginary ideal for the job, mostly physical, and then hire and fire to this 'type'. It's hard to prove discrimination when you don't exactly know what the 'type' is.

Anyway, you have my sympathies. The corporate world is dog eat dog anymore, very Trumpian. Love your photograph. You and Steve really do make a great photogenic couple.
