Quite the tragic paradoxes! There was never any point to the war from Ukraine's perspective because it was provoked by the U.S. in order to weaken Russia, not to help or benefit Ukrainians. Unfortunately there are nearly half a million Ukrainians dead now as a result of Zelensky and others being duped by the U.S.-NATO. Zelensky was so used and abused that he's almost a tragic figure but it's hard to feel sorry for him.

It will be very interesting to see what TC says and does now that he's no longer limited by FOX. People do sometimes see the light and actually change. That's what happened with Daniel Ellsberg who turned anti-war after being an admitted "Cold Warrior" and also with many other whistleblowers. Obviously MSNBC itself did a full turn around from pro-war, pro-imperialist beginning with Keith Olbermann (then also with Rachel Maddow) and then turning back to warmongering (with the same Rachel Maddow).

The reality is at this point of constant escalation between nuclear superpowers and the icy, nervous fingers of our psychopathically-inclined "leaders" on thousands of nuclear missiles on hair trigger pointed at all of us, it should be recognized that these anti-war protests are now become essentially a life and death effort to try and prevent the suicide-homicide-omnicide end of life on Earth. Or at least at the end, as the doomed characters in "Don't Look Up" to say "at least we tried."

As you may know, it's being reported that the U.S. and some of its NATO allies are assisting in the various bombing and other sabotage attacks that are now taking place, not only in Crimea but inside Russia itself apparently in an attempt to goad Russia further and possibly to justify further U.S. involvement. There are even indications that the U.S. could be planning a "first strike" nuclear attack depending upon what happens. The survival of the world is hanging by a thread.

From my experience, the FBI mindset was always to never divulge any information voluntarily for fear of setting "bad precedent". And this extreme secrecy mode existed even when giving out some info would have been beneficial to the FBI!

As you know then from reading Dutton's book, people can score high in one or some of the psychopathic traits (aka leadership talents/virtues) but low on others. I myself am rather immune to emotional vulnerability, and also possess the critical thinking skills and "psychopathic" ability to "read" others, which makes for being a good detective like old crafty Colombo. But I totally lack the personal charisma and overweaning personal ambition to climb any "leadership" ladder.

Possessing certain psychopathic talents does seem to fit well with specific professions---for example, Dutton cites the "psychopathic" ability to focus and concentrate on a particular task or objective being of great benefit to becoming a great surgeon or a bomb defuser. But I think if Dutton or others study this more, they will find that indeed "leaders" across the board will tend to score high in all or most of the various psychopathic characteristics because these psychopathic traits inherently dovetail with "leadership" talent.

A kind of Yin-Yang situation exists. Whereas the Asch-Milgram-Zimbardo type social psychology experiments have repeatedly proven how a high majority of all people--at least 2/3's but probably even higher fall into the "follower" category, as they are extremely vulnerable to "group think" conformity, obedience to "leader" authority and basically all emotionally-based propaganda. Many in the follower category don't even like taking responsibility for personal decisions but would rather be told what to think and do. This yin-Yang balance situation is evolutionarily hard-wired not only in the human species but in the larger animal kingdom.

You are also right about U.S. military strategists hellbent on world domination and other players on the global chessboard not caring about any of their proxies which historically have been constantly betrayed with nary a side-wise glance. But it's also true that many cannot help but start believing their own propaganda even if it merely serves as ego-defense.

You are right that the "psychopath" term may well prove counterproductive in terms of average readers as few people are familiar as I am--being a retired FBI agent with experience dealing with and understanding criminal psychopathy--with the reality. Besides my own actual experience in dealing with the criminal world, I get my understanding of psychopathy from the latest brain scan information provided by expert author of "The Wisdom of Psychopaths" book which describes what we commonly refer to at "leadership" traits: perseverance, courage-risk taking, enormous personal ambition, cool-calm decisionmaking and lack of vulnerability to emotional manipulation, personal charisma, etc as leadership traits. So psychopathically-talented individuals will always tend to rise to the top of their groups, corporations or governments.

Retired CIA intelligence professional Ray McGovern (aided by information from Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg) provide the most objective analytic comparison between the Cuban Missile Crisis (which we were extremely lucky to have survived) and our current facing of nuclear Armageddon. Sadly and unfortunately, I don't think we will be so lucky this time with the current psychopaths in power. Just as Kruschev's military officers were afraid of being ridiculed by China and Albania, our current crop of numbskulls would rather end human civilization rather than offend Zelensky.

What Ray McGovern writes is true enough but what he doesn't say is that Biden's warhawk administration (along with almost all of Congress and the rest of the MICIMATT) seem to be pushing for and welcoming an even larger WWIII with both Russia and China--one that risks quickly going nuclear because these "leaders" are so drunk on power and the notion of their own "exceptionalism," that they actually insanely believe they can "win" a nuclear war.

Imperial fascism is based on notions of innate supremacy to rule/control others just like the old feudal legal notions that the "king can do no wrong" which doctrine still works to protect most national governments, and even the lowest level govt employee. (That is the critical component of Obama's "rule based order" that rulers cannot be held accountable.)

What the author omits is that the U.S. already controls the U.N., the I.C.C. and other international institutions by exerting its power, both soft and hard military might power (mostly accomplished via simple bribing and sometimes blackmailing of key foreign "leaders"). The soft power of "diplomacy" comprised of bribery, blackmail, etc is actually more effective than hard military violence, although it's hardly more ethical. This "soft power" has already corrupted international "law," including the U.N. to a great extent. And "humanitarian" imperialists further that U.S.-NATO control by calling for "reform" of the U.N. to take away the veto power that sometimes interferes with the exercise of the US-NATO's raw military power.

Remember this guy, Robert Ford, who was the U.S. Ambassador to Syria back in 2011 when protests and police crackdowns turned violent, quickly turning into civil war that destroyed Syria? Ford had previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Bahrain from 2001 until 2004, and also as Political Counselor to the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad from 2004 until 2006. Initially he encouraged the civil unrest and also supported US (and other Allies) arming Syrian dissidents and fighters.
Despite his defensiveness in response to Aaron Maté's questions, it's nice he's realized the failure after 10 years and all the destruction and misery that ensued but Ford clearly has his story and is sticking to it. He was complicit in ratcheting up the violence for purposes of "regime change" from the start. Now he just blames Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia's for their sending jihadists into Syria (and also he blames Obama's too little too late arming of the good "Free Syrian Army" types) for why the "Timber Sycamore" CIA Operation didn't work.

Caity Johnstone is right about the essence of human interaction involving (to a great extent) manipulation. Soft power manipulation is actually (as Nazi Goering once explained) quite easy and works in any political system, even a "democracy." Manipulators simply press people's emotional vulnerabilities (namely fear, hate, greed, false pride and blind loyalty) to herd them or get them to do what they want them to do.

If the vaccine is only effective (or has been shown to be effective) on the symptoms of infection and not on reducing transmission of the virus, than it should really only be given to the vulnerable segments of the population, the elderly, obese and those with pre-existing health conditions. Otherwise the vaccine might actually increase transmission as you say.
