The government owns the production of cities' water. Government is also responsible for the production of electricity and other utilities. Have the USDA and FDA been all bad?
Be afraid. Be very afraid. When my Grandmother emigrated to the U.S. she became a Socialist. When I was a little girl and listened to her stories of going to the Socialist Party I imagined her dancing and, well, partying! My young brain had no idea my Grammy was an *evil* woman. Was she committed to pure Socialism? Absolutely not. She was a young woman working in dangerous conditions in the woolen mills on the East Coast. Imagine her a Mother Jones type. She was a Suffragist. She was also a Capitalist. She bought her own home with cash and never, never believed in using credit. I think she was a young open-minded person willing to embrace the good parts of both Socialism and Capitalism in her quest to find a safe and equitable life. She later became a Democrat. She lived through the horror of her family being killed by the Nazis and her brother being sent to Buchenwald. That was not the form of Socialism she knew or wanted.
Both paths in their purest form do not work. Can we not glean the pieces that do?

Re: frenetic peace

That was good. Thank you Makeesha (and the others) for working through what the future of EV may look like.

Re: Top 50 Possible Reasons Why You’re Not Emergent

Dang! I thought I was emergent until I read #30. I am over 40. When those under 40 go over 40 will they have to find a new movement??:D I have 2 Macs and just got my 30yr old son to get one. Does that redeem me?

Seriously though––I think *Emergent* can be and should be intergenerational.

Thanks for the laughs.
