Mark, I'm told weekly that a radio web site dedicated to the goings on and news about a local market is stupid. Yet, here I am, 12 years later still pursuing the craft at SDRadio.net. I've been used as a source in the local print papers, magazines, television, and national radio sources. Not bad for a guy from Dodge City, Kansas. I'm not rich; but it is the pursuit for writing joy. See you on the radio!

Focus. Radio waves in ten years will not be as important; not the death of local radio but a transformation from AM/FM to mobile base data transmission. IHeartRadio is taking this by combining multiple station ownerships and giving one portal for distribution. The typical consumer doesn't care if their favorite station is owned by Clear Channel, Cumulus, or a local group. They only want the content.

HD Radio for me is "Highly Doubtful". I have three receivers and yet seldom jump over to the alternative feeds. There's no hook; no appeal; and reception, at least in San Diego, is spotty at best. Ford should stick to what they do best: make cars.

I called no one an idiot. Chris Hansen and I met and talked about this. I did no name calling to the VFW especially the Santee post. My original two line post was only about the previous leadership. If the persons in question are members of the VFW, they are breaking the national charter. There was no tirade, and no slander. Have a nice day.

once the Padres and/or Cox has the baseball broadcast on other channels ... bye-bye Cox. Your "free" HDTV channels outside of local stations come at a price: you have to rent the box to receive the broadcast. The MLB package is crippled with standard def broadcast ... and they get you on packages I never watch except for one channel Yes, I know it is a bidness, but they digital age "friend" is really stingy. My solution for MLB: big internet pipe, Roku box and ALL BASEBALL in HDTV.
