The critical thing is to avoid being nervous, since being nervous never really helps anything. This is easier said than done, but I'd recommend going somewhere that you associate with "not very stressful" and taking a very conversational tone with the interview. Chilling in a big poofy chair with a notebook on your lap isn't that stressful. =)

It sure sounds like a CSS/Javascript refactoring. As far as I know, Youtube's current interface isn't very AJAXy, and it sure sounds like the questions you were asked would involve pushing it in that direction.

You definitely owned up the interview way more than I would have. My web-foo is rusty. I started writing an app in PHP, and I am thinking to myself "God I miss all the stuff Rails would be giving me for free" until I remember that I have never gotten a Rails app to work.

You know what's cool? This is an AJAX comment submit form, so it doesn't interrupt the song, which gets way less sci-fi-y as it goes on.

It's not just that they're hard to use, it's that they take so much more time. If I am doing things like copy-pasting a lot of text between fields, I'd much rather have a mouse.

I think the LaTeX would be exactly the same, except with more backslashes. Doing simple math markup isn't that bad, but complex document formatting is a bit harder.

I wish Textmate existed for Windows. It's a large part of why I'd want a Mac.

Facebook keeps releasing gorgeous features that are very polished by the time they're finished.
