I have never been to Mardi Gras, but I did visit New Orleans once, during the Easter of 1995 (so post-Gras!?!). I'll have to review the photographic evidence, but I'm pretty sure I witnessed transvestites atop a French Quarter balcony, brandishing beads on Easter morning. Then I think I went to Cafe Du Monde and ate allllllllllllllllll the beignets (and discovered coffee).

What I'm trying to say is, that you can always find a party if you try. (But mostly if you try in New Orleans!)

One of my biggest fights with my boyfriend involved a wide-ranging philosophical debate over whether or not a bachelor's degree in meteorology qualified one to become a certifed television morning weatherperson. (Neither of us have any interest or investment in meteorology or the morning news.)

The fight lasted three days; neither of us won.

So I guess I'm saying, um, I don't know, but we're both pretty much total assholes!

Dude, are you still biking? (Ha, I hope you are having fun with the SF hills! Although every form of transportation in SF, bike or car or subway or hook or crook, fills me with terror! Earthquakes and hills and bridges GAHHH.)

Anyway, for biking & camping, check out Mt Diablo, it's above Danville, ridiculous views & hike/bike trails.
