Here is my camera carrying philosophy: the shiz in my camera bag is worth about $3,500 and I am NOT leaving it ANYWHERE! When DD and I were in Orlando, I took my D90 into the movie theater with me. He was all like, "they aren't going to let you in with that thing, it can record the movie", and I was all like, "I don't care." I refuse to not take my camera anywhere. Even when you go into places that don't allow photography like museums or some odd places in Washington, D.C., it isn't a crime to have your camera on you and they can't take it away as long as you haven't broken any rules. Take it next time! :)

Oh Ari, I totally agree. I have faith that you will find someone who cherishes you! I know it is easier said than done (because I have to tell myself all the time) but be patient, it will come!

I LOVE office/school supplies too! In high school, my friends used to get me Office Depot or Staples gift cards for my birthday and Christmas. Love them!

I say go. I will admire you forever! I haven't been able to make it to a bar alone, but I have tackled restaurants, movies, and some other places. I think if you are close to home and feel safe, then you are fine. Take your brother's advice! Let us know how it goes and happy early birthday :)

And I totally get the parent thing. Today I got an email from a parent asking why there were no grades in the computer for his daughter. I was like, "hello crazy man! the nine weeks started a week ago and your daughter has gotten straight A's in my class for the past two marking periods! Wtf, are you worrying about!"

This is the life of a teacher I guess.

And if it makes you feel better, I run a *cough*stolen*cough* version of CS3 and Lightroom. Oh and teachers get discounts on Macbooks and Adobe software.

No, Miami is one HUGE district with a ton of schools. The next closest district is Broward County which is 45 minutes away. We have a bunch of private and charter schools here but they usually pay less than public schools. And same here, getting into a good public school is a mission.

Oh honey, that is sooo scary! I agree with Hubster, in fact, you may want to still call the police and report what happened. That way if they try it again (crossing my fingers that it doesn't) you already have a report filed that it's the 2nd time.

Yay! Glad to hear things are getting better! :)

A question- Are you teaching at a private school? All the public schools in my district are paid by the district therefore they all have the same salary regardless of where you are. I was just curious because while I don't think I make enough money either, there aren't any teaching options that make more, I'd be paid the same salary no matter what school I worked at.
