I have not minded driving an old car or living in a small house.  It has become increasingly difficult to avoid the rat race, though. One reason is that health insurance is provided, in the US, through one's employer. Health care has become so outrageously expensive that not to have insurance, which itself is outrageously expensive, is to risk financial ruin. For most people, including myself, this means having a job with "benefits."&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Employers are now using the recession as an excuse to squeeze more out of their employees, more work for less pay is not just a joke anymore. &lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">clarkbj</dc:creator><pubDate>Sun, 12 Jul 2009 22:04:52 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
