When would you recommend life insurance? My view has evolved to that being a great investment for young people who have a solid financial standing, and getting a cheap Term policy when you're young and healthy would be smart.

That's not what I said skippy. Just seems odd that an an O's "fan" would care to spend countless hours keeping tabs on the posts of a Nats fan. You should worry more about your 4th and 5th hitters.

It'll be interesting to watch these two franchises as they go forward. Early this season it seemed the O's were on the path, but maybe not. Now it seems the Nats are, but maybe not.

Is there an easy way to use my existing Gist account (regular Gmail) within my company's Google Apps domain account via the Apps Marketplace?

Also, what will this do to Google Mail for all the other users within our Google Apps domain if they don't have a Gist account? Will it nag them to create an account? We're a growing small business, 40+ people and have doubled in the last year, and a lot of our people won't have an interest (sadly) in Gist. But a few of us enlightened people do :-) What I don't want to do is negatively impact those who don't use Gist.

The reason I would like to use my existing Gist account is that it took me a while to tweak it (lots of "Mark as off topic", undoing blog searches, etc).

I also use the iPhone app, as an FYI. Feel free to contact me for any user feedback too.

Great thought provoking stuff. But I will note that you shouldn't be surprised when you are at a tech conference and other people are using technology like Foursquare. We non-Sillicon Valley people use Foursquare too.

I'm not really sure what I wrote that was cynical. I don't distrust anyone involved, I don't doubt Fred's intentions. I just think he's perhaps being a little naive to not realize/believe that when he opines "I wish someone would make a red colored theme of my blog" that some tech company out there will gladly do so to get his attention. And good for them for doing so.

And if it helps us all out in the end, doubly better. Scoble Tweets at Wibiya about their toolbar adding Buzz and BOOM, done in a few hours.

Why are you surprised that you as an extremely well known VC would get things custom made for you? You could probably start requesting totally ridiculous features in products and companies would do it just to get your attention.

Also, you could have accomplished this on your own with some very simple tweaks to Gmail via filters. You needed to just add a filter for the people you find the most important, and then put those emails into a specific tag or the Star. Not as elegant a solution, but would have quickly gotten you 80% of the way there.

I think it'd be better if you were to start saying "The iPhone is better NOW." The situation will change, and in 4 months you might well find yourself touting a new device, you should make it more clear you are talking about the very current state of phones.

Sports schedules, I forgot about that part. That is definitely a must, makes
it very easy to see if any of my teams have a game. I'll miss that come
football season. And I realized the public calendars were gone when I was
searching for a baseball schedule.

I struggle with the big picture goal myself for sure. For a few years my
inkling has been to semi-retire early, ideally to be in a situation where I
could spend a lot of time with kids (who I don't even have yet) after
school, attending activities of their etc.

10 years, clock is ticking!
