These actions contributed to creating or intensifying doubt about the Democratic candidates and undoubtedly dampened Democratic turnout.

The Republican party did not properly 'vet' their candidate in Donald Trump. The public is supposed to be able to assume that the candidates the major parties put forward are qualified, reasonably intelligent and informed, and of acceptable character to lead. The Republican party was cowed by this braggart and were afraid to stop him until it was too late. The Republican party shirked its responsibility. It's up to Democrats to clean up this mess.

Re: Hillary Clinton calls Tulsa, Charlotte shootings 'unbearable'

Police unions typically have been endorsing Republicans since Nixon. She is honest. But she keeps pushing the envelope, pushing the limits. She's got to rein herself in.

Donald Trump - everyone apparently expects him to lie. He lies so often that each lie can't be delved into for more than 24 hours because there will be a new whopper.

Perhaps his lies don't appear as serious because they were not related to his public service - he's never done any at all. -A very new situation.

Yes it's unfair, but that is the way it is and it will not change between now and Nov. 8th.

Re: Melania Trump's Libel Lawsuit Faces an Uphill Battle Against America's Robust Free Speech Protections - The Atlantic

The truth in libel is a complete defense. The problem here is in proving she was a prostitute. First, getting any of her 'clients' to come forward would be difficult - a big reason for going to a prostitute is the mutual desire for confidentiality. Second, even if someone did come forward, it would likely be a 'he said she said' result. Third, even if monetary transactions took place, proving they were for sex would be difficult.

A better tack would be to examine her tax returns filed during the years she worked here. If she filed any. Difficult, however, due to the lapse of time. The IRS doesn't keep tax returns, I believe, longer than 6 years. So we'd have to rely on her having saved copies all these years. Social Security does save records going back that far.

Trump has said he will begin his Round Up of illegal immigrants within the first hour of his term, should he be elected. The American people have a right to know whether he should begin by cleaning out his own house.

The truth? We will likely need to reach our own conclusions based on probabilities. There is no large body of work showing that Melania was a "supermodel" as claimed, nor even a halfway successful model. The only clothed photos I've seen were shot after she met Trump and he reportedly assisted her career. I have read people who did know her said ('a lot of people are talking, many people have said') she was not a "party girl" and spent most evenings at home or "dating older men." It is unlikely she met Trump due to a common intellectual interest.

Trump himself is a huge rumor-monger with his, "So many people have said... Many people have said this. It's true.... People think.... people are saying..."which starts divisive conspiracy theories having no basis in fact. He's a fine one to complain.

Melania should stop making comparisons that will be offensive to Americans, such as claiming she would be a first lady in the style of Betty Ford or Jackie Kennedy. No. Just no.

Re: Melania Trump's Libel Lawsuit Faces an Uphill Battle Against America's Robust Free Speech Protections - The Atlantic

Just not true. "Prior to 1972, cards were issued in local Social Security offices around the country and the Area Number [the first 3 numbers] represented the State in which the card was issued. This did not necessarily have to be the State where the applicant lived, since a person could apply for their card in any Social Security office. Since 1972, when SSA began assigning SSNs and issuing cards centrally from Baltimore, the area number assigned has been based on the ZIP code in the mailing address provided on the application for the original Social Security card. The applicant's mailing address does not have to be the same as their place of residence. Thus, the Area Number does not necessarily represent the State of residence of the applicant, either prior to 1972 or since." https://www.ssa.gov/history...

Re: Melania Trump Sues Over Daily Mail Story Suggeting She Was An Escort

Lol, "The lady doth protest too much, methinks"......

Re: Father of Orlando Nightclub Shooter Attends Hillary Clinton Rally - ABC News

This is another nonstory. 'nuff said. It is ridiculous to suggest that rally or town hall organizers should quiz or interrogate pattendees on all relevant subjects in order to assign seating at public events according to how their thoughts jibe with party platform. If they want to attend as registered voters, have peaceful intents, and are citizens, they should be free to sit in available seats. America’s Next Top Model

I heard about this quarrel the other day - late, I know - and wondered what Revlon's side to the story was. There's two sides to every story. Can't find it so far, but you can surmise that IF having Adrianne Curry on billboards, etc., would have helped their brand they would have done it. Since they didn't, something about Curry evidently turned them off; most likely there was a loophole in the contract they wanted to take advantage of.

This girl would have gone nowhere without ANTM. She was just out of rehab for heroin addiction for cripe's sake.

ANTM is a TV show, not a long-term model development organization. The development is up to the agency that signs the winner afterward, NOT ANTM. That has always been made very clear on the show. Adrianne's agency sent her to Milan and South Africa - places where the new series was not yet airing. She therefore couldn't benefit from her ANTM status. Not Tyra's fault.

When she came back to the States, her 15 minutes of fame were really up. She then set herself up as not-a-role-model for young aspiring models by posing for Playboy, etc. What a surprise that Tyra doesn't want to hold her up as a role model.

She went on to a TV career with Surreal Life, met Chris Knight & married him, > My Fair Brady. How would that have happened without ANTM? I find it very ungracious that she bit the hand that fed her. She'd be nowhere at all - not even 15 minutes of fame - without ANTM.

Cramped quarters, no outside world communication, long hours - typical of reality TV shows.

Re: Bachelor Ben Higgins Blogs Olivia Caridi Exit, Bahamas Swimming Pigs Date : People.com

I think it's always been this way, due to the fact that the girls always have spent a tremendous amount of time together with each other, with very little time spent with the Bachelor. He clearly didn't want to see her career tarnished, and that's a kind thing. This is a TV show whose main reason for being is entertainment and we all know Olivia got the villain edit. Of course she has another side and it's good to validate that for people. All too often viewers see the edit and try to label these people as "crazy", forgetting this is a TV show. I wonder whether Olivia had the same producer that Kelsey did last year.

Re: Working with Agencies: Advice for New Fashion Photographers

Did you pay to book the model and now he tells you you cannot use the images? They are fortunate there is not a signed release because it sounds like they did not like the way the photos represented their model client. Was it the poses? The styling? Lack of styling? The image quality? The post-processing bad? We don't know; all we know is they didn't like them and don't want them shown - just as you would not like work of yours to be shown that was not good or not your best. In a model's case the situation is even worse because they will be known by their likeness in the image - a bad photo of yours would only be known to be yours if your name was printed there. Irrelevant how many hours you spent on the shoot. They didn't like the photos and you had no release. Bad photos of a model floating around could be as damaging to her career as bad photos by you floating around could be to your career. They don't want it; you wouldn't either.

Re: Steve Rannazzisi Admits He Lied About His 9/11 Escape Story

Pretty underhanded.... Years ago consumers didn't have the experience, knowledge, or equipment to shoot anything but snapshots. Imagine what you will, but there are some darn good, experienced "amateurs" out there now - who choose to make their livings in other fields because they're more lucrative; not always because they are not as good as many of the pros out there. These exclusivity clauses are not going to save the photography business that is getting narrower and narrower compared to years past. I shoot very popular events, not weddings, and am constantly encountering darn good amateurs 'competing for free' like this guy did. I drive myself relentlessly to stay on top of my game. Our cheese will be moved. BTW this DJ was a donkey in this, but we face long-term problems. Photographers need to stop imagining they are automatically better than amateurs. Uncle Bob may only have a Canon Rebel (so much worse than your camera) but he may have a close relationship with the parties and with that rapport be able get emotional photos we couldn't begin to get. Before the show, the participants are asked who they'd like to see come on the show ("The List" that Joe talks about) and Joe had Samantha as his "#1" so, having her come on a while AFTER Joe was on meant if he wanted to meet her, he had to do something to get a rose from somebody to stay. I think Juelia read a whole lot more into it than was there. "Anybody want to go horseback riding?" he says with his date card when he arrives. Juelia says, "I do." His response to that was so vague, people couldn't tell if it was a yes, a maybe, or a no. It was also one date they went on.

The producers also knew Samantha wanted to meet Nick, so they knew there would be drama if they had Nick come on AFTER Samantha got wrapped around Joe.

I think Joe's experience with women is probably less than Samantha's with men - he comes across as pretty naive. The horse world is a very all-consuming world. I was a part of it a long time ago. If you look at Joe's twitter, it looks like he wants to leave BIP behind now and throw his heart back into the horse world.

Re: The Bachelorette: Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth on Wedding and Baby Plans : People.com

Leave them be. New York is the seat of huge multi-million dollar advertising and media campaigns for which models and actresses for many years were paid a tiny percentage for their talent. This, despite the fact that without the actors, there would have been no campaign possible at all.
