You do realize that Canada did not receive full control over the Canadian constitution until 1982, and that Queen Elizabeth still remains as Queen and Head of State over Canada, yes? Never did anyone say that Canada did not fight under the British in World War II. In 1939, Prime Minister Mackenzie King had declared war, pledging Canada's voluntary support to Britain. It was simply stated that Canadians had fought in and helped win many battles in both World Wars.

Also, the article does not state that Ian FLEMING (nice spelling by the way) is Canadian, just that he had received training in Whitby, ON.

Get your facts straight!

I really don't see how your comment is relevant to my post. Regardless, Brantford isn't known as "dumping grounds". It's people like you that continually give Brantford a bad name when it is just like any other small city. Brantford is not the only city in the area where crimes occur. It is also likely that the suspects aren't even from Brantford. So, instead of bashing this city, we should be as helpful as we can in this situation and pray for Tim Bosma's safe return.

I lived in Hamilton where they do use the organic food waste program, and I thought it worked well. They have a 1 bag limit per household for garbage, which is easily acheived with using the green bin. I see houses with up to 5 or 6 bags of garbage here in Brantford some days. The green bin has a lid, and I never had any issues with any animals getting into it and making a mess.

Raising the drinking age is not going to prevent similar acts from occuring. I'm sure that a good percentage of those who were involved were not of legal drinking age. There are plenty of under-agers who manage to get their hands on fake IDs at 16 and are drinking at bars and clubs. What needs to be done is more education on the consequences of actions like this, and it needs to be started at the beginning of high school. Kids need to learn what they can be charged with and how it will affect their future.
