I also found the new app icon irritating. Perhaps if I'd seen their rebrand campaign (which, even though I live in NYC, I didn't), it would perhaps resonate with me. To be fair, they did send an (overly-long) email about it that was buried in my promotions tag, but I'm not sure that's enough.

My husband, a UK expat, is a hardcore Carmex user -- and I actually thought this rebrand was just how the product looked in the UK. Took me a month or so to realize he was using the US version.

Which is why, during my entire tenure on Tumblr, I have never done this. Ever. Because I am too delicate to deal with a) a potential lack of questions or b) the potential for terrible anonymous questions. (Because I'm not the kind of person who turns off anonymous questions.)

As someone who, as my co-workers semi-disdainfully noted in a conversation recently, "has an outfit for everything", I feel you on this one, and never get much sympathy when I voice similar complaints. (Context: they admitted to working out, sleeping and working from home in the same clothes -- whilst I have three discreete sets of clothing for each activity. This apparently makes me strange. I maintain it just means I have *boundaries*, but I digress.)

I know. That's partially why I don't have much else to say here. I have a completely different reaction to Lana Del Rey that's logically incogruent with Katherine's argument. It's a bit more nuanced. Lana Del Rey is troubling; this is a good thing. Lana Del Rey is a provocative character. Also a good thing. But I'm not sure anyone's really in a place to listen to what I have to say on this subject -- and, more to the point, I'm not sure I'm ready to write about it yet.

I do like all three! Austra not as much as Grimes or TNP, but still -- all more than Zola Jesus. Seriously, i can hear the polyps forming on her vocal cords whenever I listen to her stuff. I'm not kidding, I pretty much find her voice aesthetically revolting.

It is frustrating, isn't it, to see rants/posts like this? I guess that's why Kelly took hers down. You're right, no one person can be held accountable for people's fiscal irresponsibility. And I also don't feel like Man Repeller in particular is one of the bloggers who's egregiously spendy at all. But consumerism is at the root of ALL fashion blogging, and unless you're going to live off the grid and make all your own clothes and not engage in consumer culture, I'm not sure you can go around pointing fingers at someone just because you get a bee in your bonnet about one of their posts, or that they're 23 and have things you don't -- namely, some terribly expensive and probably rather uncomfortable shoes.

Thanks for the feedback, Evie! There's lots of reasons we don't keep up the old version of this blog anymore -- it's a long story. I like Tumblr though, and I don't have any plans to change the format in the short term.
