Captain here (used to work on EFTPOS), the terminal / POS system sends the transaction once you select an account type. If you cancel, it then sends through a cancellation. It's not rare that the initial transaction finally makes it through, but the cancellation doesn't. In the case of a transaction error, the system simply didn't receive a response in time, but it still sometimes goes through.

Been in line for the GT4 PDK for years and can't wait! I love my manual Lotus but I personally get more enjoyment out of driving as fast as possible on track, and then completely relaxing on the street, both of which are better served by PDK.

The Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0 and Boxster GTS 4.0 will be a regular part of the Porsche range, whereas the Cayman GT4 and Spyder GT4 will be sold in limited numbers.

Andreas Preuninger has already confirmed the new GT4 and Spyder are NOT limited. The previous generation was limited and that created market conditions that they do not want this time around.

Wait til you get inside one and the claustrophobia hits you... then it gets worse :)

This initial impression is what keeps most people out of the Lotus brand. The conversion rate (test drive -> sale) is amongst the highest of any car brand, but because they lose most customers before they even visit a dealership, the overall sales rate is very low.

Yes, predominantly school boys. I saw a mum taking photos of her 2 boys with the car so I went over and offered to open the car up... they got to take photos inside and it made their day. Lots of dropped jaws and pointing fingers when driving through school zones.

The vast majority of adults seem to be lost in their own world (or their phones) so it's mainly eye candy for the kids :)

Glad it's exposed, my reverse lock-out plate worked loose so it hampered my getting into 1st/2nd gear. Readjusted it and tightened 1 bolt and boom fixed.

Great review! Glad to see a celebration of pure driving enjoyment, leaving absent all the regular safety gear banter that separates the mundane from the ultra-mundane.

I've had my Exige Sport 350 for a month now (tuned to 480hp) and getting in/out does get much easier with practice. The audio quality is surprisingly decent as well if you do opt for the sound system, as the front speakers fire up at the windscreen and create a very forward soundstage that balances with the mechanical symphony coming from over your shoulder :)

3. Go into the dealer and say "I want to place a deposit on a MANUAL Supra." Either they will register your EOI in their system, or they will report your request at the next sales meeting. There is no paradox, it is up to us to act.

This is the thing; there are plenty of keyboard warriors out there who say "I would buy one if manual was available." However unless Toyota reps are reading the comments sections of all Supra articles, NOTHING will change.

You need to go to a Toyota dealer and request to put down an Expression of Interest deposit on a manual Supra. That is the only action that develops the business case this article talks about.

"We have developed it, yes, there is hardware ready." -- in other words, they have checked that BMW's manual box can fit, and they have developed some new trim for it.

The arrival of a manual Supra will be a good indicator of how many keyboard warriors are actual potential customers.

Thing is, that's 2018 allocation. We are almost at the end of the year and as of early Dec (when I did my A110 test drive) they still had heaps of stock arriving this month that hadn't been spoken for. Seems there are several people like me who had a preorder for the car, but decided not to go ahead after the test drive.

For anyone who thinks the price is too high, some good deals on 2018 stock can be had early next year.

I'm all for high-res photos in the actual article... but they really slow down feedly where all that's needed is a blurb. The CarAdvice feed generator already trims the text to 1-2 paragraphs, so linking a low-res image should be a piece of cake.
