Hey P.L. - You may not remember this, but we met at deadCENTER last summer and you bought shots for me and some of my friends. You also gave me the BULLET script and I liked it a lot. I've also heard great things about SHUTTER MIND. Thanks for writing.

We haven't started shooting yet, so that wasn't us. I'm glad we weren't shooting in that mess. We start shooting March 23rd. So where are you living downtown?

Thanks, Pete. Yeah, it really does depend on the cumulative effect. In a way, it's too much work to just do one. You build up so much infrastructure and momentum getting a movie made that to tear it all down after the first one seems like you've wasted a lot of energy. We'll see what happens. At the very least, it is guaranteed not to be boring.

Hey Allan - Thanks for the comments and welcome to the blog.

I know what you mean about having a structure planned out. Right now I have a whole wall covered with index cards. My workspace looks like a war room. This is the first time that I've worked on a script that was pretty meticulously planned out. And what a surprise: my scenes are hitting at all the right beats.

However, I'm don't know if I'm hitting 2000 words a day, but I haven't been keeping track. Either way, this one is almost done and then I am going straight into the next one.

One of the interesting things about the Billy Wilder book that I didn't mention in the post is that a lot of those movies were in production before the end of the movie was even written. Many times they were writing the third act at night after shooting all day.

I have a movie called DELIVERY-A-GO-GO where he plays a drug dealer. I don't think it was ever released - I got it as a review screener. It's a pretty strange movie, but he is definitely in it - chewing the scenery with abandon.

Sounds cool. Don't worry, I wasn't trying to get you to reveal any details, I was just wondering it it was for kids or grown ups.

I'm shooting a pilot for a kids show this summer and there will be puppets and green screen in that. But there won't be any Warren Ellis influences.
